Show 2B Sun Advocate, Price, Utah Wednesday, June 23, 1982 Saturday post time for EURA racing Lead Helper WBBA CSB continues its winning ways Dave Hrienson, a HELPER First half champion Commercial Security Bank continues to dominate second half play in the Helper WBBA league although Central Commission did manage to hang a 3 loss on the league leaders last week. The bank and team shutout Helper Merc, in Mutual Furniture, nipped extra innings in other games during the week. Tracey West had a home run for CSB and three innings of excellent relief work on the mound in the shutout of Helper Merc. Tommy Byrge with a double and Rich Colombo with a triple, also had a big hand in the hitting attack for the winners. little hard-throwin- righthander for Central Commission, held off CSB despite giving up six hits to get the victory Central Comby a score of mission only had two hits off Byrge and Pete Paletta, but it was enough to win. Both hits came off the bat of Geno Paletta, the first a triple in the third inning when Central Commission scored three times. The second was a double that accounted for what proved to be the winning run in the fifth 4-- 3. 4-- 7-- 0, 3-- 2, dropping a 2 game to Helper Merc. It was the first win of the half for Helper Merc. Lance Greener and Jeremy Tabone combined to pitch the Merc to the win. Greener also had a double in the game as did Central Commissions Hrienson. Helper Merc had its problems with a vastly improved Mutual Furniture team, however, losing an 3 game. Dirk Barker and Shane Parkin shared the pitching duties for the winners and Parkin, Dwayne Baughman and Vic Fossat paced the hitting attack. Mike Tolich had the only extra base hit for the Merc, a double. In beating Mutual CSB got a 3-- g, frame. Later in the week, Central Commission missed an opportunity to get at least a tie for the top spot in the standings- by - , 8-- 3-- 2, 'COUPON' ''? t - V . v one-h- it pitching accomplishment from Pete Paletta and Byrge, but it took an extra inning to eke out the win. The Eastern Utah Racing Association is sponsoring its annual Coal Country Horse Racing beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Carbon County 2-- 2, two-bagge- Fairgrounds. at 6 the at p.m. Wednesday night to which decide Fairgrounds horses will be in the races.
