Show THE GREEN SHEET Thursday, July 30, 1987 MoDesfloimes Out My Window Ethel Bradford GuymonThomas Rites At Salt Lake LDS Temple The Salt Lake LDS Temple was the scene, on July 11th, when Rick Guymon claimed Jeri Ann Thomas as his bride. The double ring ceremony was followed by a wedding breakfast at the Lion House and, that evening, a reception at the Garden Heights North ward. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Thomas. She graduated from Highland high and is employed at St. Marks Hospital with a central service technical certificate. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Guymon of West Jordan are the parents of the groom. He is a graduate of Kearns high and is attending Utah Technical College and has filled an LDS mission to Akron, Ohio. Attending the bride as matron of honor was Lyndie Barker; maid of honor was Joan Thomas and the bridesmaids were Jerilyn Gardner, Becky Howard, Holly Tuckett and Kris Henrickson. Flower girls were Jennifer and Jill Thomas while Kirsty Labrum was at the guest book. Best man duties were performed by Darce Cox and the ushers were Jeff Thomas, Charles Riddle and Glen Lee. The newlyweds are making their home in Salt Lake. parties were hosted by the Garden Heights North ward, Joanie Thomas, Lyndie Barker, Becky Howard, Pat Labrum and Liz Beckman. i He is an author and, as I said, I am surprised, pleased and proud that I can call him friend. I wrote about his book Indecent Deception" a few months ago when he was in Salt Lake and many people called to ask about him and the book which is a tale of the deception our government carries out on a routine basis. Randall Leonard of Murray phoned the office the other day to relay a message from a man who non makes his home in the State of Oregon. And I dont know how many believed what he wrote, but now, astoundingly, we hear the same w ords from the Hearings in Washington D.C. as they talked. Randall mentioned Murray, and then the Oregonian said, When you get back there call Ethel Bradford, tell her hello for me. " And he did. I'm convinced he told the truth. Well, perhaps not all the truth, because it can be dangerous, at times, to do so. Men, such as Doty, are asked to do the job, accept the check (which is a nice one) and then go their way and say nothing. Like the monkeys: see nothing, hear nothing and say nothing. You got your pay so thats that. Now just disappear. It was a nice moment and made me realize wide spread my life is, even though I am a regular living most of my life within three blocks of where I was born. And the man who said to tell me hi'??? how stay-at-hom- e, Well, it was Robert H. Doty, a man I am surprised, but also pleased and proud, to call a friend, and (coincidence, coincidence) he also called me last Sunday a.m. and we laughed, talked and visited for a half hour or so. And we, like dolts and clones believe what Washington chooses to tell us. Doty tells me that his book is now going to be made into a Video Movie and, as he was the main character in the book, he will play the same character in the movie. And before you say "So what?" let me tell you. His life is so far removed from mine that the chances of our meeting in the first place were and then having the thread stretch and continue is like It will go well for both the timing and political climate are perfect. They both had to wait for us to realize there has been deception, that there have been covert actions by the thousands while our leaders have smiled and reassured us that all is well. Allis well. Doty m as born in the Midw est and wanted out so badly that he lied about his age and, at 15 years, became a Green Beret in the army. One tough bunch of guy s. And from there on danger, excitement, joy and sorrow have followed his steps and he has neer stopped. Pre-nupti- Well, all is NOT well and can be only if we ake up. Wake up and know that the world as we see it on TV and the news pages is the truth only to the degree that our leaders choose to reveal. w For instance. He is a pilot, was a member of the Green Berets in Vietnam and was sent on many special mission where his chances of returning were nil. He is acquainted with both Ollie Sorth and ' lasenfus of the downed-pilot-and he ,uo, lost his plane in Nicaragua und spent two months in the jungle, surviving on hisown, before finding a safe way out. Missionaries Indecent Deception is more than the name of a book or movie. Indecent Deception has been the name of the political game and its time for us to rid our nation of those who decieve us. Give us credit. Were adults, just tell us the truth and then well know what to do about it. And we will.
