Olympus high's Jann McCardell was best female supporting actress in a musical production. As Green Sheet Spotlights The Performing Arts Awards Sting Down Curtain by Michele Bartmess TAYLORSVILLE. Productions from Cottonwood and Taylorsville captured top honors in the Green Sheets 10th annual Performing Arts Awards program, while the top individual honors went to actors from Murray, Kearns and Taylorsville. The awards were presented last night (Wednesday) . during a ceremony held at Taylorsville high. Cottonwood captured Show of the Year honors with its big, broad presentation of Anything Goes. The shows director, Joan C. Hahn, won the award for direction. In extremely tight competition for the Best Nonmusical award, Taylorsville was selected for You Cant Take It With You. Acting Accolades Murrays Clinton Frohm Orchestra Leland Flinders Chorus a standout effort as Billy Bigelow in Carousel. In musical supporting roles, the singing of Jann McCardell enhanced her performance as Mrs. Malloy in Olympus highs Hello Dolly, while Christopher Wood's treatment of the Sir Evelyn role in Anything Goes gave him the nod. Both character performance winners were from Taylorsvilles Oklahoma! The female winner was Camille Gerber for her superb Aunt Eller and the top male was Robert Morgan as the villainous Jud Fry. to a Taylorsville girl and a Murray perboy. Shanna Petersen slow-key formance as the absent-minde- d Penelope Sycamore in the winning nonmusical earned her accolades, while Dan Cooks hilarious treatment of Truffaldino in The Servant of Two Masfersproved unbeatable. Opposite Cook in a supporting role was Leslie Lloyd whose characterization as the maid, Smeraldina, David Owens of was delightful. Granger was a superb character in Barefoot in the the strongly-cas- t Park at Granger high. Nonmusicals n 10th Season musical went to Taylorsville, with David McOmie the technical director. The Magic Moment award went to the brilliant treatment of Hernandos Hideaway in Murrays The Pajama Game where Bic lighters produced a stunning special effect. . More Winners The Audience Appeal award was won by Cottonwoods Andrew Smith for a highly entertaining effort as Moonface Martin in Anything Goes. There were two Cameo awards and a special award presented. Granites Jim Johnson was singled out for his effort as Harvey Johnson in The Telephone Hour in Birdie. Daniel Howes, one Bye-By- e of the waiters in Grangers Hello Dolly, was similarly honored. A special award went to Cyprus faculty member George Knowlden who played Chief Sitting Bull in Annie Get Your Gun, using authentic Indian costumes and props that were his own.
