Show October 29,1998 Page 9 Messenger-Enterpris- e Manti Elementary Positive Action Students Ephraim Elementarys Summer Reading Party was held on October 26. The children completed nine innings of book reading and learned about baseball during the summer months. They were awarded with a party where they watched a movie and decorated cookies. The Halloween Carnival w ill be held on Friday, October 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets for the games can be purchased at the carnival. Dinner will be served from 5:30-7:3- 0 p.m. and the cost is $2 person or$10family. The Halloween parade w ill be Friday, Oct. 30th at p.m. The children will walk from the school, down Main Street, to the bank and back. Third grade teachers (Darlene Bogh, Doris Cox Bonnie Sevy), librarian Leslie Madsen, and principal Grant Hansen attended a Big 6 workshop in the summer. The students will be doing a lot of fun activities this week to help them to remember to be drug free. The students will wear red ribbons throughout the week. There will be a poster contest using the theme. Monday, the K-- 9 unit from the prison will put on an assembly for the students at p.m. Tuesday, they will have a Scream against drugs and violence around 2:30 P.M. They will go outside and scream as loud as they can for about 0 seconds. The will even be there to help 1 1 en make some noise. Wednesday is Red Day. The children and teachers are encouraged to w ear red and the winners of the poster contest will be announced. Thursday, the children will hear a short presentation in their classes on drugs.
