This list is a very good example of the price comparison list that I wrote about several weeks ago. Several of you have written asking how I made up my list. By using this flyer list and enlarging on it, you can keep track of which items you buy, what you paid for each one during one particular shopping trip and whether any of them have gone up in price from week to week. Of course if you buy the generic foods you cannot save labels or qualifiers for refund offers. But if the savings are good enough, you can probably save as much by buying the generic brands than if you send in for the cash refunds. TALBOT Clearfield Woman, Layton Man to Wed - CLEARFIELD Mr. and Mrs. Merl Ray Bottomly of 116 Ross Drive have announced the engagement of their daughter Tami to Bryan E. Talbot. I have several letters from other refunders to answer that require swapping and I dont want to keep them waiting any longer. So far I havent lost any refund offers because of being late in answering these requests and because these people were so nice to fill my requests, I want to be sure to get my extra qualifiers out to them in time for them . , Area A X Jan. their deadlines too. have been buying some generic foods too, so my qualifiers are not as numerous as they might be, but I still can fill the requirements for the refund offers I have. I know I would miss the extra cash from these refunds, so I plan to get as many of them into the mail this weekend as I can. Since the holiday season, the refund offers arent as numerous as they were, but there are still a lot of them out there and if you really get to corresponding with other .refunders, you should have plenty to keep you in enough cash to buy most of your groceries. Since I started putting a few tips on quilting in this column, I have had several letters from readers who also like to quilt. One of the ladies wanted me to mention that tying a quilt is a lot' faster and also makes a very pretty to meet 1 and Tanya Douglas Gillespie Feb. 20. I have seen several of these, and they really are very pretty. Whichever way you want to do it, there is no feeling quite like the one of knowing that you made it yourself. One other thing that I would like to bring to your attention in regard to saving with your food budget is how important I think it is to subscribe to a couple of good magazines that give you up to date information about food and other household products. There are several on the market and you can choose whichever ones you think best meet your needs. But I have found it very helpful to have a ready source where I can keep up to date on which foods are in season, how one product compares with another in regard to nutrition, calories, etc, One good magazine is Consumer Reports. Also, most of your womens magazines have articles periodically rating numerous products. A recent Consumer Reports magazine rated canned soups. It was most informative to see just how the federal government graded the ten most popular brands of canned soup as to just what you were getting for your money.
