LT. THOMAS A. Hawke, 60, who started with the department March 1, 1933, submitted th request, effective March 15. Lt Hawkes worked his way through the ranks of the from initial statue as a probationary fireman. He was appointed a lieutenant June 1, 1951. During World War II. Lt. Hawkes served as a major in the U.S. Army. HE ENTERED service in February, 1941, and was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked Hawaii Ml UM department, his plans call for a trip to Hawaii about March 1, then deep sea fishing off Mexico, traveling and more fishing and hunting.
