Officials from their plant came down here and met with the board of directors upon our own request, and together we worked out an agreement which we feel is workable and satisfactory to both groups concerned, and it is one which will protect us in our rights to this market in the future. It was mutually added agreed and understood, Mr. Olson, that the milk which is produced in this area should have first consideration in this market, and we are drawing up a contract to that effect. The milk produced here is being trucked into Provo by a local man. The Arden Dairy distributor for this area has made his home in Carbon county. The trucks are being serviced in this locality, and the gas and oil used for this hauling is all purchased here. All of the money paid for this milk by the Arden Dairy is brought back into these counties for use here, with the exception of a few cents per unit to pay the costs of processing, the association stated. On the other hand, they said, money paid for milk which is brought into these two counties by outside producers is all taken out of these counties, with the exception of a few certs per unit which is paid to the people who distribute it here. There is a move under way to affiliate this association with the Dairy Federation of the Salt ry Lake-Pro- 0 Some people who are opposing this move have been spreading association gie rumor, say the members, that the Arden Dairys into this only motive in coming county and buying up the locally a footiproduced milk is to obtain ng in the markets here, and when it will it becomes well established drop the local producers from its On this point, says buying list. Mr. Olson, "I would like to make it clear to the milk consuming and Emery public of Carbon counties that Arden Dairy did not come down here seeking this market. We went to them, asking for eration represents approximately 90 per cent of the producers of that area. Under such a setup the local men would b eable to sell their milk at the same price o as those in the Salt area and be protected by the same agreements that now exist between the producers and processors in that milk shed, according to Mr. Olson. Heers, superintendent of the Kaiser en-- 1 terprizes at Sunnyside, in an initial effort to induce the company to establish a town inside the boundry of Emery county. It is reported that the Kaiser officials have under consideration the question of whether their miners will ride back and forth from Sunnydale, a distance of 15 miles, or whether a town will be built for them nearer to the mine. Chief obstacle in constructing a new town is the dearth of supreplies of culinary water, it is ported. The Emery county commissioners offered a townsite in Emery county, a location situated somestretch be where in the tween the new mine and High way 50. It is understood there are two possible sources of water for a town at this site, though the possibilities of the practicability of using those sites are still on the tables of the company engi neers. However, unofficial sources have revealed that the proposal to start a community has small chance of culmination inasmuch as Sunnyside has already been established for employees of the Kaiser mine at Sunnyside and that the workers in the new mine will take up residence in that community where accomodations have already been established. five-mi- le 1 FOR OVER 20 YEARS BLUE BELL he Cream Mas But,er Set the Standard for Quality in Eastern Utah A local, home-owne- d offering a market to the O Farmers industry farmers of Carbon and Emery Counties for their dairy products. Although I voice no objection to the individual named (Mr. Peacock), I find objection in an appointment which is in utter disregard of party lines, because such action can only result in disunity which leads to party disorganization. As your chairman, it has been my aim and policy to unify the Democratic party in such unity there could be a reasonable fulfilment of our party aims commensurate to the responsibility we owe to the public.
