Harris Due to the fact that we are to few in number and are a rather isolated community, we are often asked, "Where is Port- -' age? I have never heard of it." Well, Mrs, Owen (Aleta) Nielsen and her daughter, Natalie put us back on the map this week. Tuesday afternoon Natalie, that day who had missed school because she was not feeling well, was watching Big Money Movie on television when her mother answered the telephone. Sure enough, it was Bernie Calderwood in Salt Lake City asking if she or any member of her family was watching the ' show. Yes, Natalie was watching and knew the amount and wasted no time in telling her mother. Mrs. Nielsen received a check for $555. Needless to say, there was big excitement at the Nielsen home. Plans for spending the money , have not yet been revealed. , Burled Here Ervin Smith, 71, of Portland, Ore., died Thursday and was brought here for burial. Funeral services were held in the Portage ward chapel with Bishop Douglas J. Gibbs conducting Tuesday. Smith was the husband of the late Ruth Howell Smith. One son arid one daughr, ter survive, pay Smith of Wash., and Mrs. Chester (Ruth May) Neal of Portage. Glen Morris' was taken back to the University of Utah Medical center Sunday after spending the past few weeks at his home. He was taken to Salt , Lake City by Mr. and Mrs. E. Wynn John, Mrs. Morris, Josh Hawks, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris, His condition is reported as not improving. ,Mrs. Eliza Knudseh, 2, underwent an emergency appendectomy at the Bannock Memorial hopsital in Pocatello Friday night.
