Soften gelatin in cold water, dissolve in boiling water, remove from heat, stir in ginger ale, lemon juice and sugartwin. Chill until mixture is consistency of unbeaten egg whites, stir in pineapple and celery. Spoon Into quart mold. Chill until firm. Makes four servings. 1 V4 Is From Manila Lura, herself is from Manila, Utah, near Flaming Gorge where she graduated from high school. She attended Brigham Young university, and graduated from Hollywood Beauty school in Provo. I did some beautician work" she confided, "but after the children came along I discontinued It." You can tell Lura found it more interesting to be a housewife and mother. However, the past few years she has worked at Classic Fashion in the south end of Brigham City. She works regularly, but only one-haday. Shes too involved to work full time. She serves as a counselor in the Primary, enjoys yard work, Ukes to sew, delights in experimenting with new, exciting recipes. She cans approximately 400 quarts of fruit and vegetables each year. "As a family we enjoy camping and hiking" she said. "We lived in both Salt Lake City and hi Willard before acquiring our new five bedroom homo in Perry." Their home is lovely and well kept. Reaser of San Jacinto, Calif., CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES c. butter or shortening, (softened) V4 c. sugartwin, 2 T. water, Vi tsp. vanilla, 1 egg, (beaten). 1 c. flour, plus 2 T , Vi lf Vi Vi tsp. baking soda, c. chocolate bits, Vi Vi ELIZABETH ANN SKINNER AND KIM tsp. salt, c. chopped nuts (optional) Vi c. apple sauce. Cream butter, mix sugartwin, water and vanilla. Add ..beaten egg to' mixture. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt; stir into mixture. Mix in chocolate bits and nuts. Drop onto greased cookie sheet and bake 2 min. at 375 degrees. Makes about 4 dozen. L. Christmas decorations, stockings, advent calendars, and lots of stocking stuffers are being made by members for the big event. There will be a fine display of toys ranging from doll cradles, to crocheted animals, to cute little dolls for the youngsters. In addition, there will be the fun of a fishpond, cake walk, pre-holid- a graduate of Box Elder High school, where she was valedictorian for her class, and of LDS Seminary. She graduated magna cum laude in 1976 from Utah State university with a degree in office administration and computer science, and was affiliated with Phi Kappa Phi honorary. Recipes were available for members of the various candies e, There was a big drug operation going on in Brigham City this week, but law enforcement officials just ignored it! That is because this shipment was being made up of useful drug samples received by local doctors and donated to the Direct Relief Foundation as an annual project of the Womens Auxiliary to the Box Elder Medical Society. Velma Bunderson was in charge of the drug project this year, and had the doctor's wives busily working on packing huge cartons from early morning 'til lunchtime at the Solid Rock center. Then she and June Smith hosted a luncheon for all those who had assisted in the project. Direct Relief Foundation is centered in Santa Barbara, Calif., where volunteers sort the donated sample drugs that arrive from throughout the nation. They are then repacked for destinations in hospitals and clinics in underdeveloped nations around the world. A an- nounce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Kathleen to Nell J. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Anderson of Perry. December 18 has been chosen by the couple for their wedding date in the Los Angeles LDS temple. They will be honored at a reception on that same date in San Jacinto, an at an open house on Dec. 29 in the Perry Second LDS ward cultural hall. Miss Reaser served an LDS mission In Rosario, Argentina, and graduated in Spanish from Brigham Young university last August. The prospective bridegroom has served in the Guatemale mission and Is presently studying at Brigham Young University. Both are presently teaching Spanish at the language Training mission of the LDS church In Provo. Following their marriage the couple will rgslde In Provo while the bridegroom continues his education.
