Thirdly, we are afraid of the answer. When prayer is sincere, God always answers; but not necessarily the answer we would like. Sometimes Gods answers are best by his standards but not ours. This should make us happy, because God sees more than we do and seeks only our best, but it can be quite frightening. It has Holy Cross Lutheran Stewardship Sunday will be the theme of worship at Holy Cross Lutheran church of Brigham City this coming Sunday morning at 9, with Rev. John Lundblad, pastor of the congregation, preaching on the theme of To Live is to Give. In the weeks ahead, all members of the congregation will be visited as part of the annual Every Member Response program of the congregation, in which the program budget for the coming year is presented to members in their homes and their response elicited for both been said . . . Be careful for what you pray, you just might get it. HIS answer might be uncomfortable for us it might mean we cannot go on the way we have been going. It may force a change. Have You talked to Him today? Why not do it right now? It will make your day. Methodist Coming events include the monthly congregational meeting to be held this Sunday evening, Nov. 9, 7:30 p.m. at the Parsonage, 382 Camaren Drive. These are open meetings and anyone interested in the life and future of the Aldersgate church are invited to attend. his life. First Baptist IT A congregational Scb ASK AND SHALL BE GIVEN . . . were the words of Jesus. James picked up the thought, You have not because you ask not. The word that jumps out at you each time is Ask. Does that mean that God does not know our needs? Certainly not! We need to ask not because God does not know, but because we NEED to ask. It seems there are three reasons we do not ask. First, we do not ask because we do not want to admit that there are things that we cannot do for ourselves. It is that old American individualism that says Mother, I would rather do it But alas there are myself! things we simply cannot do for ourselves and for some to admit that is defeat, but for others it is victory. Secondly, the reason that we do not ask is that we are called on to believe. Some would rather just do without than to come to grips with what they really believe. Can God really do this or is this whole g just a lot of nonsense. In prayer, What do I believe unlike any other thing we are called upon to exhibit our own faith, not the faith of others. Prayer then, becomes the spiritual thermometer of our faith. Suddenly it is no longer, my parents and me, the preacher and me, the bishop and me . , . but just MY GOD AND I . . . theme 723-868- 439 Parkinson. Nearly new 2 bedroom in NW part of city.
