This is a sample of the delicious meals that the students at Perry elementary school enjoy each day. These lunches are prepared by two ladies that show their love and concern for the students in the special things they do for them in preparing the best possible lunches. Mrs. Alta Barnard is the head cook and Mrs. Velva Green-halg- h help in preparing about 125 lunches each day. They really enjoy their work, you can see this in all the special touches they add to their job. I don't believe they really feel its work, they enjoy seeing the children as they come through the line and see their happy faces when they see whats for this is always the dessert favorite of each child. is part-tim- e year and it was a real outstanding carnival. Second Ward The Perry Second ward young people held their Halloween party at the Girls home above Mantua. The evening was spent in fun games and activities Students Assist Each day they have four students assist at serving time. These are students of the fifth and sixth grade classes and the students look forward to helping out. They also enjoy learning more about how the kitchen works. Alta has been working in the kitchen of the Perry school for ten years and assumed the position as head cook about one year ago. Velva has been working as part time cook for the past seven years. During National Hot Lunch week an outstanding bulletin board was placed in the school hall by these ladies. This is another of their many talents. Having had the opportunity to eat at the school many times during the past years, I for one can recommend these lunches very highly.
