The Miss Utah Teenager pageant is the official state preliminary to the Miss National Teenager pageant to be held in Atlanta, Aug. 1976. Host hotel for the three day event is the Salt Lake Hilton, Salt Lake City. Special invited guest will include Kimberly Ann Jensen 1976 Miss National Teenager of Caldwell, Idaho and former state queens, Barbara Kearl, 1975, Salt Lake City, and Velora Sharp, 1974, Salt Lake City. Contestants will be judged on scholastic achievement-leader-shiand or beauty. There is no swim-sui- t talent competition. Contestants must be between 13 and 17 years of age as of January 1, 1975. Each contestant accepted will be requested to participate in the Volunteer Community Service program of the National Teenager pageant. This program teaches teenagers to share and to participate in A drug raid conducted Monday morning at the Protestant Student Center would have netted carton after carton ef drugs, all beneficial ones being packed for shipment to the Direction Relief Foundation headquarters in Santa Barbara, Calif. It was time for the Womens Auxiliary to the Box Elder County Medical Society to get together for their annual project in which they pack sample drugs donated by local doctors, which are in turn mailed courtesy of the Kiwanis Club, and then disbursed throughout the world to areas in need. Direction Relief Foundation distributes vitally needed medical supplies abroad as contributions from doctors, hospitals and medical manufacturers in the United States. Crates containing 200 to 300 pounds of these supplies are shipped daily to some 18 to 20 hospitals in developing nations from the Santa Barbara center. The Box Elder County medical' wives join thousands of local volunteers in communities the world, as well as some 250 volunteers in Santa Barbara who assist in the sorting, crating and administrative duties involved. Those working at the sorting and boxing in Brigham City included Mrs. S.L. Moskowitz, Mrs. Dean Bunderson, Mrs. J. Gordon Felt, Mrs. Otto Smith, Mrs. Thomas Hannum, Mrs. Reed Merrill, Mrs. Arnold Gilbert, Mrs. Bruce Keller, Mrs. Jack Johnson, with assistance given by Mrs. Frank Loomis prior to the packing day. Mrs. Thomas Hannum was hostess for a luncheon following the busy morning spent packaging the drugs for shipment. Scott, newly elected national president, said that the organization is developing todays girl for tomorrows world. The Brownie Girl Scouts of today will be the leaders in the year 2000, she said.
