Ford gave a campaign speech in behalf of the U.S. Senate candidacy of Republican Jake Garn held in the University of Utah Special Event Center in Salt Lake City Saturday. Jim Brown, rlose friend of the President of the United States accompanied him on Air Force One to the nations capitol where he will spend a week as a guest of President and Mrs. Gerald R. Ford. Saturday Mrs. LaMar Harris accompanied Kay Crandall, a student at USU in Logan to see South the production of Pacific in the Fine Arts center at USU. Mrs. Grant Callister attended a Utah Arthritis executive board meeting and luncheon held in the Surety Life Insurance building Wednesday. Dinner Party Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Grant Callister attended a dinner party at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Lyle Archibald and family in Salt Lake City for Craig Callister, a student at University of Utah who was observing his birthday anniversary. Also attending was Miss Alta Lowe of Ogden. The small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Hurd was blessed by her father in Sacrament meeting Sunday in the 6th Ward and given the name of Allison Jean Hurd. Following the meeting Mr. and of Mrs. Dwight Pearce Clarkston and Mrs. Rozina Hurd of Snowville visited at the Hurd home. Coleen Johnson, Donna Stokes and Sandra Tebbs spent Saturday in Salt Lake City attending the Food and Fashion Fair at the Salt Palace. Ella Turley has returned home after receiving medical care in the McKay hospital in Ogden. Kendall Kimber of Snowville was a village caller on Wednesday and Mrs. Wilda Kimber was in Lucin Thursday at the home of the McDades having her hair done and visiting. Harold and LaRetta Smith were in Tremonton, Brigham and Ogden on Wednesday and Thursday. They were keeping doctor appointments, visiting and doing some shopping. The Andersons (Cliff and Marge) the McDades (Don and Mabel) and the Pruitts (Charles and Maxine) all went to Ogden Friday and stayed over Saturday. They also enjoyed a shopping trip and visiting friends and relatives. There were about ten large trucks loaded with sheep and supplies thut passed through Lucin this week on their way to the desert. Cliff and Marge Anderson entertained the members of the Bible Study Class at their home on Sunday night. The school students enjoyed a Halloween party on Thursday at the school house. A scavenger hunt was the highlight of the evening and then all the teams were treated to apple cider and doughnuts. Teachers, Lyman and Eula Kimber were in charge of the entertainment. Rhea and Archie Toyn were in Pocatello, Idaho, on Sunday and Monday visiting their daughter, Gail, and her family. A group of eight deer hunters are here from the California area to participate in the late Nevada deer hunt. They are staying with Max and Melissa Tanner and plan to be there this Kerry of Roy.
