Show Ton Flint BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah 10 Thursday, August 22, 1974 celebrates birthday by Doris Flint The day of August 15 proved to be more than just busy for Toni Flint of Promontory. It started with a birthday party. The party was for three of her friends; (they decided to hold one big party) instead of separate ones. After the party it was time to register for school, find the class rooms and purchase books. She then attended the movie making taking place at the LUANN BURTENSHAW, of Brigham City, participated in Golden Spike National Park. While there she was able to obtain Johnny Cashs autograph and get his picture. This was a great thrill for her. That evening she attended a party with her sister Sherry, in Brigham City. Richard and Lori Nicholas and Dennis and June Poulsen attended the movie making also. Richard and Dennis were extras in the movie. Remodel Church While all this excitement was going on some of the rest of the people of the area were busy remodeling the church house. A room with a basement is being added and it is being covered with siding and paint where needed. When finished it will nice. There is only one week left before school starts. It seems everyone interested in school is busy with preparations for it. There are meetings to attend and various other items to get ready before school opens. look Capt. Weight of RFD 2, Brigham City, recently completed a US Air Force Reserve officers training corps field training encampment at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. During the encampment, cadets receive survival and small arms training and air- craft aircrew and in- doctrination. They also have the opportunity to observe careers in which they might wish to serve as Air Force officers. Cadet Weight is a student at Brigham Young University. He is a 1972 graduate of Box Elder high school. Terry J. Weight . completes course the Utah State University Dance west during the past summer. Petersen Brigham woman attends seminar Representing approximately clubwomen in the state of Utah, Mrs. Verl L. Petersen of Brigham City attended a national seminar on community in improvement Aug. Denver, Colo. Mrs. Petersen is serving as 2,500 improvement community of program chairman for the Utah Federation of Womens Clubs, and in that capacity will be responsible for a statewide program designed to initiate improvements in cooperation with other community groups, public officials and private citizens. The community improvement choreography and classical by the General courses include: American Character sources Ballet, modern dance. Terry Pratt home from LDS mission Elder Terry L. Pratt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl L. Pratt, Jr., has returned home after serving an LDS mission in England. He arrived home Aug. 20 from the England Central mission. He resides in Brigham with his parents at 74 North Third East. Elder Pratt will be honored at a welcome home this Sunday, Aug. 25, in the Brigham Fourth Ward, 25 North Third East, with Grant Thompson Bishop presiding Services will begin at 4:30 p m. The national seminar, conducted with the cooperation of the National University Extension association, marks the r beginning of a program of community improvement. Clubs affiliated with the General Federation of Womens Clubs will compete for prizes which include a top state award of $400 and a top national award of $10,000, to be presented during 1976. The seminar was one of two national training sessions which will focus on processes for solving community problems.
