Each family should bring their own dishes and a potluck menu item, with drinks and watermelon to be furnished. There will be games and swimming enjoyed during the afternoon. Mrs. Berniece Anderson A. will be honored at a ladies tea from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, at the home of Mrs. Vern Petersen, 723 Drive, Brigham City. Eliason The occasion for the tea is that Mrs. Anderson, a longtime, resident of Brigham City, has recently sold her home locally and bought a home near her daughter in Ogden. All friends and associates are invited to attend the tea to visit with Mrs. Anderson and to wish her well. Mrs. Anderson has lived in Brigham City for many years. She and her late husband Paul owned and operated The Reminder Office supply. After his death, she became the school secretary at Lakeview school. She has been active in the community; a member of the Brigham Symphonic Choir, the Literary club, and the Senior Citizens board and has been active in the Brigham City stake Relief Society. Hostess for the tea will be Mrs. Vern Petersen, with Mrs. Ray Adams, Mrs. Harold Lindsay, Mrs. Ned Caldwell, Mrs. Hazel Johnson, Mrs. Eldridge Roundy and Mrs. Clark Hillam as Around 30,000 women now hold private pilot licenses. Book Lore club hosts partners at picnic event Members of the Book Lore club hosted their husbands at a patio party held recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Byington, with 28 members present for the delightful outdoor occasion. An enjoyable evening was the sum total of the event for all those present. 0 o MUSTARD PICKLES qts. large cucumbers, 5 gr. peppers, 3 qts. small cucumbers, 3 red peppers 2 qts. pickling onions, 3 large cauliflower. Mix vegetables (including cauliflower that has been slightly salted and brought to a boil separately) then add: 2 qts vinegar, 1 qt. water, 3 c. sugar. Bring to a boil over vegetables. Add a thickening of: 1 generous c. flour, 6 T. mustard (dry), 2 T. Tumeric, 2 T. celery seed. Bring to boil and place into bottles. Makes approx. 10 3 FROZEN FRUIT SALAD Serves 24 qt. whipping cream, 4 c. sliced bananas, 3 c. Manderin Oranges, 2 c. sliced peaches, 1 small bottle maraschino cherries, 2 c. sugar, 2 8 T. lemon juice, lemon Jello (3 oz.), pkg. 4 pkg. pecans. 2 c. mayonnaise, Mix fruit, lemon juice and 4 sugar. Add water to of a cup). Add remainder of Dissolve Jello (about sugar. Set slightly. Whip cream and add. Fold in Jello and mayonnaise. Add mixture to fruit. Freeze for 24 hrs. The double-rinceremony was performed in the Ogden LDS temple in the presence of members of both families and a few close friends. Immediately following the ceremony the bridal party was feted at a wedding breakfast hosted by the grooms parents in the Tremonton stake center That evening the newlyweds greeted guests at a reception in the Tremonton Stake Center hosted by the bride's parents. The bride chose as her matron of honor Diane Gunnell. They are now in the process of moving into a new home in Orem. Michelle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kerr of Tremonton. Teen Dance set Saturday A region teen four-stak- e dance will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Brigham City North stake center. LDS youth, ages 14 through 18, are invited to attend the dance. Admission price is per person, and those attending should bring their dance card for admission. Live music will be provided for dancing, with LDS dress standards expected. County couple is wed in LDS temple rites nuptial daughter of Mr. and Mrs 1 g Family greets tiny new son Douglas A. and Peggi Whitaker George greeted a tiny new son on Aug. 10 at Cooley Memorial hospital. The little fellow will be named Cade Richard, and was greeted at home by a big brother Colin. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred R. Whitaker of Roy and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph George of Tremonton. Greatgrandmothers are Cecilia Whitaker of Brigham City and Rozelle Cutler of Pocatello. REGISTRATION Take Triangle Mr. and Mrs. Mel Roberts and Ardis have their daughter k returned from a delightful tour that took them to Alaska and Hawaii. They were accompanied on the triangle tour by Mr. and Mrs. Angus Niebuhr of Salt Lake City. They went first to San Francisco and then boarded a plane for Anchorage, Alaska where they spent three weeks as houseguests of the Roberts son and family Sgt. and Mrs. Jesse Leon Roberts. They spent the time touring the area, saw the Glaciers, and visited Valdez which will be the end of the new pipeline. In their visit to Mt. McKinley Park they saw many elk and were able to get some of the fish their son supplied them with canned to bring home. They also enjoyed attending church in Fairbanks and Anchorage. Leaving Alaska they to continued on by Hawaii where they spent two weeks touring the four main islands. They rented a car and toured each place they stopped quite extensively. Highlighting the trip were their visits to the popular Polynesian Cultural Center, the volcanoes, LDS temple and their stay on Waikiki Beach. They had a fabulous time but were glad to get home, according to Mr. Roberts when I talked with him Monday. They arrived home in time to greet their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Berner Roberts and Darrin and Dale of Moline, 111. The visitors will spend two weeks here visiting the Roberts of and Floyd Gardners Deweyville. Mrs. Roberts is the former Carol Gardner of Deweyville. Also visiting the Mel Roberts for a day and night this week were another son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Val Roberts of Delta. five-wee- were the guest of honor Packer Hatch, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hatch, Vaconville, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. C. R. The 62 family members brought campers and tents and boats and enjoyed boating, water skiing and visiting during the three-daouting. Son Visits Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pett are enjoying a visit from her son and family Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dixon and children Lauren, Dennis, Russell, Carl and Kami of Gilroy, Calif. On Monday was night a family held in Box Elder canyon. They are spending a week here visiting friends and relatives and sightseeing. er son-in-la- y Briefing You The George Hackings were so happy to have their daughter Mrs. David (Mary Ellen) Brown of Laie, Hawaii spend some time with them during a 10 day stay in Utah. She came to receive special training at the BYU. She is loan official at the BYU Hawaiian campus. While she was here she visited his folks the Douglas Browns in Bountiful and other family members as well as getting in some waterskiing. Mrs. Brent (Pat) Griffin and children Camille and Sarah of Phoenix, Ariz. arrived Monday to spend 10 days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. James. Dixon. Dr. Griffin was unable to come at this time. News Flash Heard about the exhibits of Steve Hansen and Doug Allen in the Salt Lake Public library and thought you might be interested in hearing about it. Steve has his ceramics on display and Doug his paintings through the month of August. Steve is the son of the Jay Hansens and Doug the son of the LeeRur Allens of this city. Doug is married to the former Yolanda Deleon. When I called Mrs. Jay Hansen Monday night to find out about the display I learned the Hansens had been busy with family visitors recently. His brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Harold Hansen and son Tom of Seattle, Wash., had spent a week here visiting them and his mother Mrs. Daisy Hansen. Mrs. Hansen's brother Steve from Carruthers Beaumont, Tex. was visiting them. He is a chemical engineer and was in Utah to attend a seminar at the University of Utah. Dredge pork chops in mixture of flour, salt, dry mustard and garlic powder. Brown in oil in large skillet. Place browned pork chops in Crock Pot. Add can of soup.
