Show I Buzzing Bear River Christmas parties fill local column by Senneth Ha wkes Kirk ' . Iverson had the raiafortune of injuring his ankle during basketball practice one night last week and is now making his way around on crutches. Kirk is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Iverson. Mary S. Anderson attended the "setting apart services in Hooper for Eldor Cory Anderson son of Hartley and Gaye Anderson before going on his mission to Vietnam for the LDS church. This is a newly open mission and there have been some missionaries transferred from the Hong Kong mission but Elder Anderson and Elder Dee Oviett from West Jordan are the first missionaries to be sent there directly from the mission home in Salt Lake City. They will make one short stop at Tokyo, and Hong Kong before going to Vietnam. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hendrickson, Mr. And Mrs. Dee Ramsdell, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Anderson and Trudy Anderson also attended the services. Last Thursday night Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy hosted a party for the ward bishopric. Mrs. Hardy served clam chowder and the rest of the dinner was furnished by the guests. The table was decorated in the Christmas spirit. Those attending were Bishop and Mrs. John Holmgren, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnsen, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Porritt, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Munns, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nelson, and Mr. and Mrs. Mario Checketts. The evening was spent visiting and playing Mrs. Hardys new electric organ. Mr. Odell and Mrs. Christensen of Salem, spent Saturday closing up their house recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Nessler. They don't intend renting it at this time. They spent the rest of the day visiting with Ida Christensen and other family members. Primary Party Friday night the Primary officers held a party for the officers and teachers and their husbands and Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy were also there representing the bishopric. A delicious turkey supper was served to 56 guests. The program consisting of Cyd Starley on the guitar and Lawrence Hawkes singing with her. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Crozier spent Saturday and Sunday at the Ken Porritt home. Council Sunday Guests Ronald and Helen Munns of Clearfiedd were the Sunday guests of the Reed Munns family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gardner attended the Thiokol party at Sherwood Hills Saturday evening. Last Sunday the Frank Gardner family were at the Eldon Gardner home in Tremonton attending a family birthday party in honor of Eldon Gardner. Stephanie Gardner, who is a student at BYU majoring in business Das&ed her shorthand and typing tests so high that she was asked by several professors to do their secretarial work. She will spend four hours each day taking care of these duties and receive wages to help with her education. The Bear River choir and the Corinne choir under the direction of Wanda Johnsen furnished the music at stake conference in Brigham Mrs. Freda Barker was the accompanist. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Jensen have been in Salt Lake the last two Mondays where Mr. Jensen has been receiving medical treatment. Ken Pasketts sister Maurgerite Gam of San Jose Calif, arrived by plane and was met at the airport by the Pasketts. They then stopped in Ogden to visit Mrs. Maurerite Paskett at the McKay hospital. Mrs. Gam stayed over night with Ken and Dot then stayed with her mother in the hospital relieving her sister Mrs. Merle Corliss. R.N. of Clarkston, Washington who has been nursing her mother for the past several weeks. Mrs. Gam expects to stay until the first of the , year. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dallin and sons of Salt Lake City were visiting at the home of LaVon Dallin over the weekend. Verl Iverson from Ogden was Sun-dya- . evening. Earl Owen visited his grandfather, Herman Thompson who is receiving medical care at the LDS hospital in Mr. Logan Wednesday. Thompsoon is reported to be recovering nicely from major surgery.
