Pleasant, Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Anderson of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Hamon Anderson of Salt Lake City, Liz Ballentyne of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Cushing of Salt Lake City, Marellda Gibson of Layton, and Lurline Rigby of Ogden. With the exception of Mr. and Mrs. Allen, all of the people attending the dinner party had traveled together through the southwest on a ,T X bus tour of the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. After dinner, Mrs. Larsen showed slides of the trip. Music from the Mardi Gras added authentic background to the parade slides. Mrs. Larsens home was decorated with beads that she picked up at the Mardi Gras. He is receiving treatment at the Davis North Medical Center in Layton. Chad Beazer has been very ill this past week and a half, he first suffered a serious heart attack and later he has had a stroke. Mrs. Bradden Mann was named to the position of Society organization Sunday afternoon at the regular Sacrament meeting services. Just recently released from this position was Mrs. David Thurgood who has served for the past year. Dr. Darrell S. Willey and his daughter Mrs. Teresa W. Hazelton and her little daughter left on Sunday for their homes in Las Cruces, N.M., after being here for the wedding of their niece and cousin. Miss Shauna D. Child and Lorne Edward Schmunk that took place on Saturday. Also coming from Upland, Calif, was Mrs. Helen Alexandria, she too is a cousin to the just-we- d couple. She left on Sunday evening fur her home. While in Utah these people were all guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Barber. A ward dinner and program will be held on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Syracuse Third LDS Ward. An Ogden mother of four will be honored with the Liberty Bell Award at a Law Day luncheon Friday, April 29 at Hill Air Force Base. TO BE honored will be Mrs. Jerry M. Littleton, 1708 Hislop Drive. The Liberty Award is an American Bar Association award given to a layperson who has made outstanding contributions to the local community. Contributions made by Mrs. Littleton have promoted better understanding of our form of government, encouraged greater respect for law and stimulated a deeper sense of responsibilities in all citizens, said Col. Daniel Peyser, staff judge advocate at Hill, who is in charge of the Law Day program. MRS. LITTLETON has worked diligently with womens and childrens or- ganizations of northern Utah. She is president of the League of Women Voters, organized the Community Legislative Action Workshop and the Weber County Equal Rights Coalition and serves on the subcommittee of the Governors Commission on Women. She also has labored against child abuse, housing and development. FORMER GOV. Calvin L. Rampton will be speaker at the noon meeting of bar as- sociation members from Davis, Weber, Box Elder and Cache counties, erb STATE HOUSE Fellows are appointed by the governor to work in the office of an elected state official, a state agency, a legislative or judicial office. Duties may include to serve as a program director, assistant program designer, consultant, planner, coordinator in areas such as public affairs, education, human services, public administration, and other state government operations. A STATE House Fellow receives a broad exposure to state government and its impact upon local government and the public and private sectors of the communities within our state. Anne Rowley of Layton received a first place award Department ot Employment Security, LDS Social Services, and Biofeedback Research Associates. CURRENTLY he is the of Biofeedback Research Associates. This is an organization that utilizes special techniques to teach director the hard-cor- e unemployed how to relax and to change some of their attitudes that prevent them from getting and holding jobs. The Utah project, pioneered by Mr. Austad, is the first of its kind in the nation. An active member of the LDS Church, Mr. Austad has held many leadership positions within the church. He served an LDS mission to Germany. Four four years, he was a guide on Temple Square. MR. AUSTAD is married and he is the father of five children. Mrs. Verna Whittaker from Salt Lake City visited last weekend with her daughter Mr. and Mrs. and Ronald Schroader of Layton. Wednesday, Apr. 13 Mr. and Mrs. Diamond Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Weidower attended the funeral services of Mrs. Lacy Lundquist. Mrs. Lundquist was the sister of Mrs. Diamond Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Terry held a Mutual Marrieds group fireside in their home last Sunday evening. The speaker for the evening was Abdallah Hadjar, an architect and archeologist from Syria. He of slides showed archeological excavations near Damascus and he told of his native country and his people. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen met Abdallah Hadjar when they were in Salt Lake City attending a Utah Symphony Concert. He was all alone in Utah and so the Allens invited him out to dinner. Later, he was a guest in their home and a speaker at this fireside. The Allen children were fascinated as Mr. Hadjar showed them how the English alphabet evolved through the ancient languages of the Middle east. Mr. Hadjar can speak fluently four lan- guages. Abdallah Hadjar is a representative of the Syrian government in the U.S. to study the American road sys- tems - especially the freeways.
