NEWSPAPER Paste-u- A CALL FOR STORIES of the EXPEDITION Dear Editor: I am a graduate of San Juan High (1979) and have been away for a while. But I would like to relate some of the more interesting things I have done and am doing for any San Juan County residents who might think of me from time to time. I was a drama student in high school. I was a theatre major at Weber State College (that dates me!). I served a mission in Argentina then came home and earned my masters degree in Child and Family Studies at Northern Illinois University in sunny DeKalb, Illinois. I was a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for some years in Salt Lake. I wrote grants for the Native American 2002 Foundation which was the foundation that brought together the Five Utah tribes to perform in the 2002 Winter Olympics games. I thought the Five tribes were excellent-NavajUte, Goshute, Paiute and Shoshone. I was also on the staff of the Arizona State Mental Hospital. I have since returned to Uintah Basin to take care of my parents- - Dr. and Mrs. L.K. Edrington. My wife and I are tour guides that cater to Germans. Our website is: www.innertours.de Ches C. The San Juan Record member ot Association is a the Utah Press and National Newspaper Association SERVING ALL YOUR ELECTRICAL NEEDS Grieve deaths SOLAR ELECTRIC TOM PALMER Dear Editor: According to some of our journalists, the war in Iraq seemed to have gone as planned, although we did lose 128 of our people. Every one of these deaths is a terrible loss, and causes all of their families extreme grief and distress. However, when people sign up in the military, they suspect that a supreme sacriFice is not always avoidable. We grieve over all of these deaths, but what about those millions of aborted babies we lose each year? Some citizens refer to those aborted as a fetus, the implication being that until it is born its nothing but some kind of a blob. But the doctor looks on his sonograph and sees arms, legs, torsos, heads and then tells the young married couple, youre going to have twins, a boy and a girl. The doctor can distinguish between a baby boy and a girl in the womb, yet they are disposable blobs until they are born, or some would have your believe. The male species could be sterilized and abortions would cease and so would humanity as we know it, but fortunately, women can be almost complete in control of abortion. There are cases where abortion is necessary to save the life of the mother, but women have liquids, capsules, soft gels, tablets, patches, shots and surgical procedures which can prevent pregnancies, especially when they say NO to those male jerks. Men think they are in control, but women have the real power and can put an end to indiscriminate abortions if they so choose. Dr. D.N.
