Show Home & Garden, April, 1995 Price City Community volunteer committee earns recognition a 1st Place Progress Award for The Price City Community Progress Committee is a volunteer committee organized to plan events to further progress the residents of Price City. There are nine departments organized within the committee, each with a chairman, including: Don Neeley, Chairman; Theressa Frandsen, Council Liaison; Mary Shorts, SecretaryHistorian; Beautification, Gary and Wendy Meeks; City Signs, Jack Soper; Cultural RefinementVolun-tee- r 1992-199- 4. A scrap book was submitted with the accomplishments of the committee and community events. The Neighborhood Watch Program was one of the first departments organized. Since 1989, former Chairman, Jaseline Williams and her assistant Jim Piachitelli, have spend many hours working on establishing neighborhoods with a Neighborhood Watch program. We appreciate their diligent work. The Neighbor for N eighbor program is presently in need of a chairman. A few Neighborhood Captains have been assigned to assist in their area. The Price City Community Progress Committee received The Neighborhood Watch program is for everyone, in every circumstance. By reducing opportunities for crime, looking out for our neighbors, and acting as extra eyes and ears for law enforcement, you as a member of a Watch group can improve the quality of life in your neighborhood. Installing good locks on doors and windows and taking common-sens- e precautions while inside and outside your home can reduce opportunities for crime. Reporting suspicious activity to the Price City Police Department can prevent or break this vicious cycle of crime and in the process, build your community into a safe, friendly and caring place to live. At the Community Health Fair, information will be avail-abl- e regarding: Crime Prevention Tips for Senior Citizens; AHome Safety Quiz;Tips for Working Parents; Workplace Crime Prevention Tips; Good Neighbors Can Cut Crime; and TEENS - They can be the Solution - Not the Problem.
