Like everyone else, when students get sick they dont feel like doingmuch. Until this year students have had to rely on their own resourcefulness to get medical care. Last June the College of Eastern Utah entered into a cooperative arrangement with Castleview Hospital to provide health care services to students. There has been a need to provide health care to students and thehospital hasbeen a tremendous help in making student health care a reality. John Powell an Exercise Physiologist and Director ofWellness at Castleview Hospital feels that there are several factors including: poor diet, inactivity and genetics. There are rare cases where that only metabolic disorders lead to obesity. Powell points out that recent research suggests that the methods we use to lose weight may be largely to blame. People turn to quick fix methods for a problem that has developed over years. Everyone looks to the magic diet or pill to take weight off quickly and easily. It may be these very programs that have gotten us in trouble.
