Stress San Rafael Jr. High clubs to hold service project next For the two weeks some of the top students at San n to Rafael Jr. High will be participating in a earn money to buy a new set ofencyclopedias and a CD Rom n will take for the school's media center. This place in conjunction with the World Book Encyclopedia Co. which will reduce the price of the encyclopedias and CD Rom by almost $200 if students work to earn the rest. Mrs. Butler, the school's librarian, said that the school hasn't bought a new set of encyclopedias for three years, so this will greatly help the students. She also said that this is the first year that World Book offers full text, multi-medCD Rom and it will really be used, especially as the media center is remodeled and more students will be able to access computers to do their research. Mrs. Butler said there's something about electronic equipment that draws students to participate. She has seen excellent research projects come from some of the more reluctant students when they can use the computers. The 116 members of the Honor Society and 46 members of the Readers Club will be asking the public to give pledges. They will be asked to pledge so much money for each book the students read within a period. Mrs. Card, the Honor Society advisor, said the students are eager to be able to do a service project that will benefit all the students at San Rafael Jr. High for many years to come. She also hopes the parents will encourage their students and the public will be generous as these excellent students are getting in a worthwhile project.
