Show PAGE FOUR THE BINGHAM BULLETIN of West Jordan FRIDAY, JULY 14, 1961 MISS BONNIE HARKER SETS AUGUST WEDDING DATE Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marker, 94 Hillcrcst, Copperton, announce the engagement and forthcoming mar-riage of their daughter, Miss Bon-nie Marker, to Edward Jacobson. The future bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Jacobson, 103 West Park St., Copperton. An August 25 ceremony is plan-ned in the Salt Lake Temple. A re-ception in the Copperton Ward Mouse will follow. June 30 in the Salt Lake LDS Tem-ple with John Longden, assistant to the Council of Twelve Apostles, officiating. Following the ceremony the bridegroom's parents were host at a wedding breakfast at the Hotil Utah Sky Room. In the evening the newlyweds were further honored with a reception held at the Draper First-Thir- d LDS Ward. The couple honeymooned at Sun Valley and plan to make their home in Sandy. Visitors Thursday night of last week of Mr. and Mrs. Hunt Nielson and family were Mrs. Nielson's bro-ther and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Torgensen and twins, Kathy and Kirk, of Monroe, and Mr. Nielson's brothe rand wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nielson and daughters, Julie and Janice of Richfield, who were on their way to vacation in Canada. The Torgensens were overnight guests. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Boren and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pollock enjoyed a drive over the scenic Mirror Lake to Evanston, Wyo. loop on the 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Wally Swenson and daughter, Lynn Ann, motored to Orem last night, Thursday, to bring home their daughter, Celece, who has been visiting the past week with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Laird. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Nielsen had as dinner guests Tuesday even-ing their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Garahana and child-ren, DeeAnn, DanYiy, Julie and Lori of Kearns. Visiting at the Niel-sen home later in the evening was Mrs. Leonard Bell of Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. J. Lynn Thompson and daughter, Marsha, of Los An-geles, Calif., enroute to Canada on vacation, visited Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Elwood T. RECENT WEDDING Of locnl interest is the marriage of Miss Joan Sampson, daughter of Mr. anJ Mrs. Gerald E. Sampson, Crescent, and H. Keith LaComb, son of Mr. pnd Mrs. Frank O. b of Midvale formerly of Cop-perton. The couple was married day. Grant Milncr and Ben C. McAllia-te- r enjoyed a slumber party at the McAllisters on Monday evening be-fore leaving on their trip on the Snake River. Sunday Mrs. Samuel Francis and children and Mri. Eva McAllister and Virginia enjoyed dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Arn-old and family of Granger, Mrs. McAllister, Mrs. Francis and Mr. Arnold are brother and sisters. Yvonne Koukles of Tacoma, Wash., is visiting here for three weeks with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Zaccaria. Last Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. William D. Kidd and Ruth Claire and Mrs. John . Greene and Suzanne attended the wedding cere-mony at Christ Lutheran Church in Murray uniting in marriage Miss Linda Beck and Dennis E. Erickson. Linda is a cousin to Mrs. Kidd and Mrs. Griene. After the ceremony a reception was held in the National Guard Armory. Also Friday evening a couple of hours was spent at the Rock and Mineral Shov held in the Utah Na-tional Cuard Armory on Sunnyside Avenue which Mary S. Anderson and Dr. B. D. Bennion are mem-bers of. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jackson and daughter, Joyce, Ruby Mae Serassio and Mrs. Ward Warner and child-ren, Bill and D'Ann, of Midvale helped Judy West, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. West of Salt Lake City celebrate her birthday Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Foster and children of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Mardman and daughter, Deborah, spent Mon-day visiting in Magna with Mr. and Mrs. Had Jackson. Mrs. Lynn Pett and children, Linda, Nancy, David and Diana of Ogden visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Gadd last Friday. Mrs. Raymond Larsen and Lois attended the funeral services of Wil-liam Sparkes of Salt Lake City last Saturday. Mr. Sparkes was former-ly of Copperton. Randy and Cheryl Gadd, children of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Gadd of Midvale spent several days last week visiting with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Whitelcy and Mr. and Mrs. George Gada and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Car-riga- n, Michal and Jayne. One even-ing was enjoyed at Saratoga by Mr. and Mrs. Whiteley, Jayne and Michal' Carrigan and Cheryl and Randy Gadd. Mr. and Mrs. George Hardman and family of Sandy spent Sunday vioiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hardman. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Marker entertained at a birthday party and dinner at Copperton Park on Sat-urday in honor of Mrs. Marker's father, Leonard Harris of Pleasant Grove. Besides the hosts and honor guest those attending were Mrs. Bert Kirkwood and Rosalie and grandchildren, Pauline and Chris-tine of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Miles Harris and children, Calvin, Terry, Stcphan, Mark, Julie and Chris of Orem, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Harris and children, Vivian, Jeanette, Al-lan, and Tony of Salt Lake City, and Bonnie, Colleen and Paul Mar-ker. Games were played and a good time was enjoyed by all. Mrs. Samuel Francis and child-ren, Arnold Lee, Mae and Alicia of Fustin, Calif., are spending the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben McAllister. Mrs. Francis is Mrs. McAllister's sister. Mrs. Dewey Wright enjoyed the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Jo-seph Fellows of Salt Lake City and Sunday they enjoyed a picnic lunch in American Fork Canyon. Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Downs were their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Downs and son, Craig, of Midvale. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Boberg of Sandy visited Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer V. Knudsen and Mr. and Mrs. J. Dewey Knud-sen. Allan Brisk and Reeves Dahl-stro- m recently spent a few days fish-ing up in the Mirror Lake country. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gough and family of Salt Lake City visited in Copperton Sunday with friends. Mrs. Rosa Scroggin and family attended a Scroggin Hofmann re-union at Lagoon Monday. Week end guests at the Ben Mc- Allister home were Mr. and Mrs. David White of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Verio Kendrick en-tertained their 500 Club at their summer home in Charleston last Saturday night. Members attending were Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ham of West Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Bell of Sandy, Mr. and Mrs. Hosmer Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Verl Peterson. Special guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Householder Jr. of West Jordan. Cards were played and a lovely dinner was enjoyed. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. Householder and Mrs. Hosmer Pe-terson for the ladies and Verl and Hosmer Peterson for the men. Guests were overnight guests and Sunday the men enjoyed fishing. A very enjoyable time was had by all. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Williams and daughter, Diana, of Provo and Sus-an Arnold of Denver, Colo., spent Monday evening visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ben McAllister. Marvin Jones of Heron, Mont., spent Saturday and Sunday visiting with the Ben E. McAllisters. A dinner was enjoyed Tuesday in Salt Lake City by Mrs. Eva Mc- Allister and Virginia, and Mrs. Samuel Francis and children, Alicia, Mae and Arnold Lee. Ray, returned Monday afternoon from San Diego, Calif., where he attended the Region 12 Explorer Scouts delegate con-ference. Among the 1500 scouts who gathered aboard the aircraft rnrrier Bennington moored at San Diego Naval Station, for discussions on citizenship and government, were more than 300 explorers from Utah. Russell represented the Bing-hu-area and went with the Red-wood District. Mrs. Lawrence West left last Fri-day to visit her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Larrv West and grandson, David, of Ontario, Cal.f. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bononcini and Mrs. William Ablett left yester-day, Thursday, for Colorado to visit with friends and relatives in Canon City and Florence. While there Mrs Ablett will also attend a class re-union at Florence. Mrs. Jimmy Griggs and children, Stephanie, Jimmy, Terry and Deb-bie, of Twin Falls, Idaho, arrived Friday to spend a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Armit-stea- Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cowdell en-joyed dinner Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson in Provo. The Andersons were entertaining for the G. L. Dra-pers who are visiting here from Richmond, Calif. A family get together was en-joyed Saturday at the hmoe of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Armitstead in cele-bration of their grandson, Jimmy Griggs' birthday. There to wish him Happy Birthday were Mrs. Jimmy Griggs and children of Twin Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Armitstead and children of Sandy, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Downs and son of East Midvale and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Eastman and children of Herriman. An Armitstead family night was enjoyed at Saratoga Monday even-ing. Those there to enjoy the out-ing were Mrs. Jimmy Griggs and children, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Downs nnd son, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Armitstead and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Eastman and family and Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Armitstead. Monday Mrs. Louis DeCol visited with her daughters, Edith and Max-in- e DeCol of Salt Lake City. Later Maxine and her mother enjoyed dinner at the China Food Kitchen. Sunday visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis DeCol was Mrs. Barbara Walker of Salt Lake City. William K. Andreason, Ben Mc- Allister and Alden Nix are chaper-oning 12 explorer scouts on a three day trip on the Snake River, which they will try on rubber rafts.
