Show W.J. LEGION POST INSTALLS NEW OFFICERS JULY 6 A good time was had by all last Thursday, July 6, at a party given for the members of the American Legion and Auxiliary of Post No. 119, Lyons-Irving-Gardner. The party was a joint installation and hamburger fry held at the home of Mrs. Veona Thompson. The guests were served refreshments refresh-ments on the back yard patio of the Thompson's home, at 8:00 Richard Setterburg, District 8, immediate past commander, assisted by Cliff Mathews, installed the legion le-gion officerss. The officers for the coming year are: William Thompson, commander; command-er; Harold Crass, vice commander; Joseph Shaw, adjutant; Glen Beck-stead, Beck-stead, chaplain; Hyrum Glover, historian; and Bod Austen, sergant at arms. The auxiliary officers were installed in-stalled by Mrs. Wanda West, District Dis-trict 8 immediate past president. Next year's auxiliary officers are: Mrs. Veona Thompson, president; Mrs. Albine Richardson, 1st vice president; Mrs. Ida Westwood, 2nd vice president; Mrs. Billie Tripp, secretary and treasurer; Mrs. Eba Glover, historian; Mrs. Nell Williams, Wil-liams, chaplain; and Mrs. Leona Beckstead, sergant at arms. Guests present were H. C. Mc-Shane, Mc-Shane, Department Commander, and his wife, Golda, past national vice president, and Mrs. William Champlin, past district president. Other guests included Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Setterburg, Mrs. Cliff Matthews and Albert West. Post No. I19's only junior member, mem-ber, Billie Jean Champlin also attended at-tended with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Champlin. |
