Show By LYN CONNELLY GALS! Can you qualify as a model on ABC-TV's "Queen for a Day?" Explains head model Maxlne Reeves: "Our girls have to be something special to meet the demands de-mands of the job" . . . What's special in the eyes of TV? Listen to this: "First," says Miss Reeves" prospective models must have the figure. Our girls have to model everything from evening gowns to foundation garments, so an excessive figure or the emaciated, emaci-ated, angular figure of the fashion fash-ion magazine model are out. "We want models with straight, even legs, moderate hips, attractive attrac-tive arms and hands, and proportions propor-tions that lend themselves to easy fitting and look well In everything every-thing . . . Also, our girls have to possess that 'all-American look' ...We want them to be fresh and wholesome like the pretty girl next door" ... Those are some specifications, what? Believe it or not, there are such girls, however; how-ever; in fact, quite a number of them. Jolene Brand is the perfect example ex-ample of a beautiful young lady who launched a successful television tele-vision career as a result of her work as a model on "Queen for a Day" . . . Jolene has appeared in the "Zorro" series on ABC-TV's ABC-TV's "Walt Disney Presents" and Is a regular on the network's "Guestward Ho!" and "Ernie Kovacs Take a Good Look" series se-ries ... According to Miss Reeves, a "Queen" model weighs 117 pounds and, from top to bottom, measures 35H, 23. 35. "The Queen la a discriminating lady," saya Maxlne, "only few can serve her." Interesting how they select the models; now we wish they would be equally discriminatory toward j selecting an emcee. |
