Animal control dealt with 69 animal problems. 101998, Two Main Street businesses reported damage from a B-- Gun. Both establishments had glass damage. Some idiot with a B-gun caused an estimated $1,800 worth of damage. An RP (Reporting Party) reported that there was a man holding a female against the wall of a business. The RP thought that the female being held against the wall was trying to get away. The responding officer located the subjects in question, but discovered the situation to be somewhat different than described. It was two females and they both advised that they were just talking and there was no problem. Okay! An east side resident reported the theft of a bicycle. The RP told the officer that he had left it at his sisters house and it had been taken during the last two weeks. 102098, An officer responded on a complaint of a noise problem at an east side location. The officer found three individuals who had been partying, it was now 5:25 in the morning, and they were still having fun. The officer gave them two choices; 1 go home and call the party off, or 2 continue their party in a jail cell. They chose 1. A visitor reported a theft. The victim told an officer that someone had stolen a head lamp from his tent. The head lamp was valued at $85. The real bummer was the fact that whoever took the light, entered the tent by cutting through the side. The tent was valued at $650. I wonder why the thief didnt use the zipper? A Moab man was arrested on retail theft charges at Walker Drug. The man had reportedly placed two CDs in his backpack and then failed to pay for them at the cash register. The man was reported to have had almost $400 on him at the time of the theft. I guess he can use that for bail money. 102198, An RP came to the office to report a problem. The RP B B ' Larry & Susan Turpen Licensed Funeral Directors Mortuary and Crematorium Sarah Ellen Smith Thomson Viewing was held Friday, Oct. 23 at Spanish Valley Mortuary. Funeral Services Saturday, October 24, 1998 L.D.S. 3rd Ward, Moab Gene Browning Private Family Services 386 N. 100 West Moab Fax: house. The RP told the officer that he thought it had been left there, by an enemy, who wanted to get me in trouble. The officer did a field test on the item and it was negative for any type of drug. The officer noted that the article looked like a piece of a peanut to him. 02498, Two Moab sisters were arrested on assault charges following a family fight in a west side trailer park. It appears as if the two were fighting over the belief that one was messing around with the others husband. An RP reported that his neighbor backed out of his driveway and hit the RPs fence. The RP didnt want anything done. The officer told the RP, that inasmuch as he didnt want anything done, nothing would be done. informed an officer that she had borrowed some money from a man. She had given the man the title to her car until she paid him back. She continued, that she had paid the man back, but he had given the title to a woman. The woman told the RP that she wouldnt give the title back until the RP returned some property to her. The RP told the officer that she had nothing that belonged to the woman. If the title isnt signed, it has no value. A west side resident reported observing a van run into a fence. That was the only description of the vehicle that the RP was able to provide. There was no make, model, or color. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle. 102298, An officer refereed a family fight in a west side trailer park. Neither party was cooperative with the officer. My question is, why do they call? An RP called and reported that there were some vehicles playing in the mud in an empty field. The RP told the officer that he didnt own the field, however, the vehicles were trespassing. The officer advised the kids that they probably should leave. An officer responded to an east side apartment complex on a report of someone kicking a door in. The officer found the damaged door and a suspect nearby as well. The occupant of the apartment was located and advised that he just wanted the damage repaired. A short while later, the victim advised that there had been a theft. An adult magazine had been stolen. The officer advised the RP that it would be difficult to identify the magazine if located. The RP told the officer that he would be able to tell by some stains on the pages. (The last sentence was paraphrased to keep the blotter somewhere in the PG rating range). If you have a complaint about anything, who are you gonna call? Why the Moab Police Department of course. An officer was dispatched to a local restaurant on an elderly couple who were reportedly being disorderly. The RP, an employee at the restaurant, told the officer that the couple wanted to complain about their food, but the manager was gone. So lets call the cops. Well, the elderly gentleman told the officer that he had ordered a well-don- e steak. He advised that when he got it, it was bloody. So wHat did the restaurant do? They took it back to cook it some more. The old, or rather elderly gentleman became upset. He told the officer that, You dont cook a steak twice! The officer, in essence, told the man that the police department doesnt do steaks at all, and he might want to take his complaint to the Chamber of Commerce, after he paid the bill. My question is, why would someone ruin a perfectly good steak by having it cooked to well done anyway? Well, this is turning out to be an odd day. An officer met with a subject on a question. The complainant asked the officer if he could have someone arrested for taking things out of the garbage dumpster at his business? The of-- ficer advised that it was probably not a theft, perhaps a trespass might be involved, but not a theft. I think, inasmuch as the dumpster is on public access property, a trespass isnt even involved. 102398, The theft of a wallet was reported. The victim advised that the wallet had been set down with an infant in a carrier in a store. When the owner returned to the carrier, the wallet was gone. It was reported to contain $600.00 in cash. An officer met with a subject who advised that he thought that someone had left some drugs in his didnt want anyone arrested, rather, she thought an officer could speak with someone at the source of the calls and get them to stop. The officer went to the residence in question and met with the family residing there. It was discovered that there were two young boys residing there.' They were admonished for making the calls and they agreed to stop. The case was C.B.L. (Cleared By Lecture). purpose of repair. The female, later, decided she wanted the hat back and some kind of argument began. And, once again, depending on which part of the story you read, one assaulted the other.
