Swasey was charged with two counts, Laxton with three counts and Myers with one count of distributing meth. Brune was charged with one count of possession of e meth a and one count of felony meth paraphernalia a class A misdemenor. Three juvenile males were also arrested and charged with a total of six counts between them for distribution of marijuana and meth. Their names were not released because they are juveniles. Squire said that the drug task force, which includes elements from the Grand County and San Juan County Sheriffs Departments and the Moab Police Force, worked on the arrests with Grand County Prosecuting Attorney Bill Benge, his staff, and staff from the Adult Probation and Parole department. Weve been gathering information about all of them for several months, said Squire. Pretty much, most of the information came from informants. Morning is a good time for the safety of the officers, he said, explaining the early hour of the raid. Its fairly common for us to serve warrants of this sort at this time of day. The Oct. 21 arrests came in an early morning operation that capped a investigation based largely on evidence gathered with the help of inside informants. Grand County Chief Deputy Sheriff Doug Squire said five adults and three juveniles were swept up in the raid that began at 6:30 a.m., catching them at home as they rose from sleep. Adults arrested were Roger Price, a man, Joseph Swasey, a man, Kelly Laxton, a man, Terry Brune, a woman, and Barry Myers.
