The Hinckley Institute, founded in 1965 by Robert H. Hinckley, provides educational and political experiences for students from every field of study at the U., said Ted Wilson, director of the institute. "We encourage the entire campus outside of political science to apply. Political science is for everyone. Even dance majors are affected every day by politics," l j d, League of Cities and the U.S. Conference of Mayors, Wilson said. "The students really enjoy those internships, and they get an exact view of politics," he said. Along with internships, another service provided by the institute is the weekly "Coffee and Politics" and "Books and Banter" held in the Hinckley Caucus Room in Orson Spenser Hall. According to Wilson, the institute's most important aspect is the political internship program the offered to students.
