The following is a breakdown of the boards and their respective duties: Academic Affairs Board The purpose of the academic affairs board is to help U. students improve the quality of their education. . The board works closely with the Student Advisory Committees and the Student Senate to further student awareness and participation in academic matters. The board also assists students by subsidizing the U. Tutoring . Center and the Supplemental Instruction Program, reducing the costs for the services. According to a report by Chairman Rob Lund, the board has set a number of specific objectives to help students achieve their academic goals this year. First, the board plans ' to increase its involvement at the state government level. The board also plans to help raise money for the Marriott Library through expansion of its aluminum can project and other fund raisers.
