The Air Force plans to construct a natural gas service station at the U.S. Air Force Utah Test and Training Range (Box Elder County) to refuel vehicles operating on natural gas. Additionally, the AF proposes to remove three existing underground oil storage tanks and extend natural gas lines to heat four on site buildings. The construction of the natural gas service station would allow additional use of natural vehicles at and between UTTR and Hill AFB. The Air Force set guidelines for the conversion of gasoline vehicles to alternate fuels that are cleaner, cheaper and readily available. To comply. Hill AFB converted more than 130 vehicles to natural gas.
