Dave Abbott Organic waste collected from projects and base housing is processed and returned to the earth by using the compost materials as soil additives and mulch. To dry the material, it is arranged in long windrows like this so it can be easily turned. SHOPPING Group Military family housing residents can now join the newest recycling project at Hill organic composting. With the recent addition of a new 40.000-square-fo- ot composting facili- ty, organic waste is collected, recycled and turned into organic material. The material is used in base landscaping projects as a soil additive or mulch. The 75th Civil Engineering Group plans to compost 1.400 tons (2,800.000 lbs.) of waste this year. This will reduce the cost of waste disposal by 9 percent. At Hill, yard waste is collected from housing residents and transported to the facility where it is unbagged, shredded, and placed in large rows that are 5 feet high and 16 feet wide. As the material decomposes, it is aerated by a rotary drum windrow turner, water 1991 GEO STORM 1993 FORD ESCORT LX 5 spd.. toal. low miles. 4 dr.. loaded, only 55k miles. 5 spd., AC. red. 4 dr.. 5 spd.. Most EO complaints today are more subtle than the blatant kinds of discrimination, but the prejudices are just as damaging to individuals and to the Air Force mission and it takes more work to identify and eliminate it. An equal opportunity awareness educational tasking of this magnitude has not been called for in nearly 20 years, but Air Force leadership is dedicated to eliminating all forms of discrimination in its working environment. The training will be held in Bldg. 55 near the South Gate. Classes will n of the base reflect a population and will be limited to approximately 30 students. Associate instruction will be provided by the Equal Employment Opportunity Office. Base organizations will be contacted shortly to make arrangements for scheduling the training. 7 mammri ...v..J-.:--i- 128S M.
