Career fields eligible for reenlistment bonuses changed drastically April 1. On that date, 18 new career fields were added to the bonus list while nine career fields were deleted. Fourteen additional career fields will continue on the bonus list. Reenlistment bonuses range from $900 to $1,800, depending on total years of previous service and length of reenlistment. To be eligible for a reenlistment bonus, a reservist must be within 12 months of separation, must have less than nine years military service, and must not have previously received a reenlistment bonus in the Air Force Reserve. The individual must have satisfactory reserve participation and cannot be an Air Reserve Technician. A person having less than six years total service at separation, who reenlists for six years, can get a $1,800 cash bonus. A person having at least six but not more than eight years service will reenlistreceive a $900 cash bonus for a three-yea- r reenlistment. A perment or $1,800 for a son having more than eight but less than nine g years of service can receive a $900 bonus for more for three or years.
