Show HILL TOP TIMES 1r Friday, April 11, 1986 Hospital DomiDinig Chief of the Air Force Nurse Corps, Brig. Gen. Carmelita Schimmenti, Headquarters U.S. Air Force in Washington, D.C., will give the keynote address at the April 19 Dining In for USAF Hospital, Hill. The affair will be held in the Hill AFB NCO Club with a social hour at 6 p.m. and seating time in the dining room at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $11 per person. A native of Albuquerque, N.M., General Schimmenti has been in the Air Force since 1958 and held a variety of assignments within the UnitedStates and overseas. Prior to succeeding Brig. Gen. Diann A. Hale on Sept. 30, 1985, the general was the command nurse for Strategic Air Command, Offutt AFB, Neb. She received her nursing diploma from the Regi-n- a School of Nursing in Albuquerque, earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and a master's degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It is sponsored by the Order of Daedalians, Flight 32 and the Battle of Britain Society. Featured will be Lt. Gen. Adolf Galland, considered by many historians to be the outstanding sur in scheduled Civilian employees retire AFB, Hawaii. General Schimmenti has written several articles on nursing and management. Her writing has appeared in the USAF Medical Service Digest, Aviation Space and Environmental Medicine and TIG Brief. In addition, she is also a noted lecturer throughout the country, speaking on such subjects as "The Health Service Management Inspection System," "The Meaning of Being a Military Officer, ""Stress and Nursing Managers," "Leadership" and "What the American Flag Means in My Life." She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the National League of Nursing, the Air Force Association and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. viving pilot of the Luftwaffe. Gen. Chesley Peterson will round out the panel.
