Show HILL TOP TIMES Friday, April 29, 1983 lhniirs !rJdsey fie By Gina Murphy Team Manager The Hill AFB Falcon ice hockey team held their annual awards banquet and honored their outstan- Team captain, Dennis Murphy, 4488 AGS, was doubly honored as the "Most Valuable Offensive Player" and the "Best Player." Murphy played all positions on the team and occasionally switched from offense to defense in the middle of the game. This versatility along with his ability to accumulate 11 goals and nine assists made him the top contender for these awards. He accumulated two power play goals, one game winning goal and the Falcons' only hat trick of the season. The team's "Most Valuable Defensive Player" was Rick Seeley, 388 EMS. Seeley was not only valuable as the Falcons' top defensiveman but he "Most Improved Player." He was a beginning skater when he joined the Falcons, but through determination and willingness he became one of the Falcons' strongest defensive players. He ended the season with zero penalty minutes and had one assist for the Falcons' offense. The "Hustler" award went to Mike Domingas. He is a strong offensive player with tremendous energy and drive. His determination and hard work along with his excellent attitude won him this accumulated five goals and six assists to become the Falcons' second leading scorer. He also had one power play goal.
