By Martin L. Brown AYSO publicity This weekend's games in the American Youth Soccer Organization left the Hill AFB teams on the losing end in all but two tie matches. The 5 and 6 year old Tigers with Dave Chacon and Jose Benavides coaching fell to a high scoring Clearfield team The Tigers tried to turn away a Clearfield shutout when the "big guns" Timmy Dyson and Stephanie Langan teamed up for an attempted scoring drive only to be turned away by tight Clear- with only 10 players and felt they could have won with more team members. Christy Copeland scored the lone Falcon point with an assist from Michelle The 8 year-ol- d boys team fell to a scrappy Clearfield Cobras team Abe Rainey and Ryan Clapper pressed with attacking drives to no avail. The Cobras were led in their defeat of the Falcons by Kurtis Smith. Coach Ron Felts' Red Devils played a tie game The Red Devils were down 2 with Clearfield at the half and battled their way back to a tie. Entry fees are $100 and will go toward the construction of the Hill AFB Museum and Aerospace Park planned to house artifacts on the history of Hill AFB. "We expect 30 teams of four amateurs and one professional to participate in the tournament," Mr. Sneddon said. "The tournament has been approved by the Central Chapter of the Professional Golf Association." Teams will play the "Chicago" format in which points are earned for pars, birdies, eagles and aces. Every golfer has an opportunity to win regardless of his or her handicap. With a field of 150 players, prize money will total $5,750. If the field is less than 150, prize money will be figured on percentages. "The top seven teams will be in the money," Mr. Sneddon said. "Base workers who want to play in the tournament but find the entry fee prohibitive should consider rounding up nine people to join the Hill AFB Historical Society," he said. .
