Show Friday, April 29, Hill Page 23 HILL TOP TIMES 1983 names Outstanding Handicapped Federal Employee George S. Adams has been selected as this year's Outstanding Handicapped Federal Employee at Hill AFB. He works in the Avionics Section of the " X Missile and Aircraft Systems Division, Directorate of Maintenance as an instrument mechanic. He began his career at Hill AFB in October 1952 as a camera repair helper. He was separated in August 1953 due to a reduction in force. He returned to federal employment in March 1955 and has accumulated 29 years of federal employment in the Directorate of Maintenance. These years have included positions as an instrument K overhaul helper, electronic instrument repairer, computer repairer and a temporary promotion to instrument overhaul foreman. Instruments he has worked on include thermocouples, skid detectors and a wide range of indicators. Mr. Adams' interests are not limited to his job. He is involved with his church as serves as a counselor in his church group. He has been active for 22 years in the Hyrum Lions Club and has been secretary of this organization for 19 years. With the Lions Club, he has participated in comthe conmunity projects such as struction of a new fountain on the Hyrum City Square, sponsoring little league baseball teams, annual screening clinics for glaucoma, high blood ' pressure, diabetes and hearing, the selling of brooms made by the Utah State Workshop for the Blind, and the Utah Eye Bank Drive. He is also an officer in the Hyrum JayCees.
