Its purpose is to lessen the burdens of government and local communities in meeting needs of human health and welfare and provide a convenient channel through which federal public servants may contribute to these efforts. In this way, the CFC minimizes disruption of the workplace and costs to taxpayers. Local federal employees contribute through the Northern Utah CFC which extends from Center Street in. Farmington to the Idaho state line. It encompasses 24,000 people. Mr. Tixier said "The CFC held last fall raised $570,000 for 127 agencies. Most of the money was contributed fund-raisin- ar through the payroll deduction method, where equal amounts are deducted from the contributor's v paycheck. "The CFC for this year will be conducted during September and October," Mr. Tixier said.
