Most impoilantlv. there was no lan Ballet Guild hosts afternoon lunch and shopping On Friday. Nov. 17. the Ballet West Guild will hi st its annual Holiday Boutique Luncheon. This special event features over 25 specialty vendors who sell their unique holiday gifts, paired with a fashion show starring Ballet West Artists wearing the latest holiday wear by Nordstrom. The luncheon will be held at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center in downtown Salt Lake City. Shopping begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch and the fashion show at 12:30 p.m. The cost of the event is S25 with proceeds coins directly to Ballet West. "This year promises to be the best Holiday Boutique Luncheon to date." commented Local "Interlude" vocalists present holiday concert Tis" almost the season and the vocal ensemble, "interlude", has announced a jump on the holiday's holi-day's musical offerings by hosting host-ing a concert Nov. 17 at 7:30 p in. at the Park City Community Church. Guests will be treated to an eclectic mixture of choral selections selec-tions from classical, jazz and renaissance ren-aissance to madrigals in a program pro-gram designed to exalt the beginning of winter. The male dancers strapped themselves on to heavy ropes dangling from the ceiling above. There were no connecting moves in between tricks, which led to much anticipation as to what was next in store. There was not much grace involved with these beginning acts: it seemed as though the perform event chair Jennifer Anderson. "This is an exclusive event as it will be the first time the beautiful Ballet West Artists will model fashions from Nordstrom, with choreography from Ballet West Artistic Director Jonas Kage. 1 think it is a great way to kick off the holiday season in style." This year the Holiday Boutique Luncheon will offer a wide range of products from holiday decorations to handmade carpetbags. A favorite booth that will return this year will be JoLe Hudson, co-author of the A Cooking Affaire series. The cookbook is now in its third printing with recipes ranging from 1 W by its artistic musical director. direc-tor. Shelle Jennings, and began its musical career with four members of the former choral group Glonana. It now boasts a dedicated and talented roster of 11 musicians who auditioned to join a team inspired to create musical excellence and quality performances. Musicians who have joined "Interlude" come from the Park City area but several hail from the Salt Lake valley. Performers were at ease on stage. The intensity of their tucks did not show their nerves. The music was extremely soothing sooth-ing as well. There were birds chirping in the background, as a female dancer balanced an egg from a stick with her mouth. She then balanced a pyramid of glasses, while moving and rolling around the stage. The contortionists contor-tionists brought grace to the show. They easily maneuvered themselves into extraordinary positions atop a platform. This showcased their years of training and discipline. Thev also trusted trust-ed each others strength enouch "Overtures" (beverages) to "Melting Moments" (deserts). The book also features a section called "Girl Talk" which gives suggestions (or heibs and spices and other helplul hints "1 have all threj books and I plan on purchasing more this year for my family as gifts." commented Kathy Gardner, a fan of the cookbook series who has attended the Holiday Boutique Luncheon since its inception. Cindy Eisinger began sewing at a young age by dressing her Barbie dolls. Today, she is busy making her Mary Poppins inspired carpetbags. The second half of the show was much more dramatic. The male performers were twirling ropes so quickly that the water in the small buckets attached was not spilling out. There was a clay pot being bounced off a male's neck. Feet were manipulating bowls, in such a way. that tumbling was occurring without the bowl touching the stage. Finally, human pyramids were formed on bicvcles and chairs high in the air. All in ail. the show was enjovable for adults and children to watch. It was the perfect lenuth of time for the audience. built a profitable business. This will be the fust vear Eisinger has attended the Ballet West Holiday Boutique Luncheon. Guild members noticed Eisinger's hot product after she donated one of her bags to the Ballet West's Evening of Elegance silent auction. Her bag was well received by guests at the event and so guild members decided to ask her to become a vendor at the boutique luncheon. Each bag is handmade with the finest tapestry fabric.
