Conabee OF THE RECORD STAFF From Daly Canyon to the Cook Islands, the Park City Mountain Sports Club has a great time enjoying the recreational opportunities afforded afford-ed them. Every week, an active, adventurous eroup of locals meets to tour the trails and slopes, restaurants and theaters of the area. In the summer, sum-mer, they meet every Saturday to hike and every Sunday to bike. In the winter, the schedule changes to snow shoeing on Saturday and skiing on Sunday. In addition to outdoor recreating, the group also plans dinner din-ner and theater trips. Larry Po.iI. one of the founding members of the club, estimates that PCMSC has been active for close to seven years and currently has 285 members. "We designed this program pro-gram to take in all the activities of the area. We ski, snovvshoe. hike, bike, and golf - we really do any sport you could think of. and we're always looking for new ideas," Every Friday evening, the club hold a TCIIF outing in an area establishment estab-lishment at 6:30 p m. "It's a great introduction for new members." said Pozil. The group plans at least one dinner or other soc'M activity a month for its member. An annual winter dinner dance will be held this year at the Prospector Square Marriott. The group plans a Moab trip every spring and keeps a deposit on a boat in I akc Powell for a traditional summer trip. An important goal of the Sports Club is to meet the ability levels of all of its members. "We have anywhere any-where from 8-10 or 25-30 people for our trips." said Poiil, "We try to have multiple leaders for each hike or ski trip so that everyone can join in at a level they are comfortable with." Some of Sub for Santa's most v isible projects are the "Angel Trees" posted in Park City businesses Sub for Santa decorates small Christmas trees with paper cutouts of angels labeled with Christmas wishes from the many applications that Sub for Santa processes each holiday season. Items on the paper angels range from articles of clothing (with age, ste and color preferences) to toys or sports equipment Sub for Santa will pick up the items and deliver deliv-er them to children and families in the community Indiv iduals may aixo choose to sponsor families during the holidays.
