Mountain Arcade and Family Fun Center at Kimball Junction may be an answer. "We had a brainstorm after loading up the kids and heading to Salt Lake City to find a good games arcade." said D'Ann Dabell. owner of Mountain Fun. which opened just three weeks ago. "1 wanted something that would appeal to all levels, from little kids to adults, where kids could come and play and it would be safe." she said. The storefront, located in the shopping center behind first Security Bank's Kimball Junction branch, holds a doen arcade-style video games, with more on the way, according to DabeU. She also has a plan to rotate the games in the center, so kids will always find at least one new game to master. In addition to selling tokens good for use in the various games. "We can set up birthday or special-occasion parties." Dabell said, "and can arrange almost anything for the party." She has hosted events for up to 30 children so far. and said that piz-za and game play were the high points of the party. "None of the kids seemed bored. Most of them were surprised when the time was up - it went so quickly." quick-ly." she said. Parties can be booked for any time of day or evening, she said, w ith advance notice. S 9 1 J Mountain Arcade also has what Dabell called a Ninja Jump - an air-inflatable air-inflatable trampoline that young kids especially enjoy. She added that she has plans to take the arcade on line by setting up what she called a '"cyber station." "Kids will be able to come here and get on line in a limited, supervised super-vised way for game-play mg." Dabell said. "We will put in a Webcam which will have a view of the interior, so kids can call up our site and see if their friends are here." Mountain Arcade has a regular Monday night two-for-the-pnee-of-one token special. Dabell said that the arcade will also be sponsoring contests where kids can win tokens and other prizes. Mountain Arcade has promise for parents. Dabell said, because of her experience with her three children. chil-dren. "They have been in here every day for three weeks.
