Hiskey PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER Nebo School District continues to grow at approximately 1,000 new students each year. Two new high schools have been built--Salem Hills opening this fall and Maple Mountain High opening August of 2009. A new Landmark Land-mark building was also built this spring. Three new junior high schools were added in the last couple of years, Mapleton Junior, Diamond Fork Junior and Mt. Nebo Junior. Numerous elementary schools have been built to handle the growth, totaling 26 elementary schools in all with several more needed in the near future. With this rapid growth in Nebo School District, an assistant superintendent super-intendent position has been added to help with the additional responsibilities respon-sibilities and programs. Richard Nielsen, the current elementary director, has been appointed by the Nebo School Board of Education Educa-tion as the new assistant superintendent superin-tendent for the district. . Nielsen will assume some; responsibilities re-sponsibilities from other directors to allow them to concentrate on their own areas of focus. These duties will include administrator administra-tor evaluations, career ladder, r Rick Geiiiil causes iiijuiaeeident Springville police officers responded re-sponded to a traffic accident at approximately 1500 South on Highway 51 in Springville Tuesday Tues-day shortly before 11:30 a.m. According to the investigating officer, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was southbound on Highway 51 when it veered off the road and struck a disabled vehicle stopped along the shoulder. The impact pushed the disabled vehicle into a second vehicle, also on the shoulder shoul-der of the road, and pinned a young woman between the two trucks. A second person was also hit by the impacted trucks but was thrown clear. The driver of the Cherokee was a 17-year-old female. Hew comes highly qualified and has numerous awards including in-cluding Human Resource Developer Devel-oper of the Year Award by the Utah Association of Elementary School Principals in 2003. He also received the Rookie Principal of the Year Award by the Utah Association As-sociation of Elementary School Principals.
