Anderson, of Provo, was selected Rent-A-Kid of the month for August by the counselors and administrators of the program. Jed, a 16 year old Provo High Junior, was chosen for his outstanding completion of assignments, for his enthusiasm and the sense of responsibility he has shown in the program. According to his counselor, Scott Gee, Jed is a "...very industrious ' person whom I can always depend upon ... I can give Jed a job to do and I can be confident he won't let me down." Jed has worked an average of eight hours a day during the past summer, working at various jobs offered through the Rent-A-Kid program, such as landscaping, land-scaping, weeding, gardening and yard work. It has provided an excellent opportunity for him to work in the sun and earn an income, both of which he enjoys very much. An avid sports-fan, Jed has participated in many outdoor sports and has competed in church basketball and baseball teams. He enjoys hunting, backpacking, back-packing, and camping. In other words, "Jed is both a hard worker and a hard player, a fine example of the youth involved in Rent-A-Kid," according to Kim Crowther, director of the program. Other youths nominated were: Brian Liston, Lehi; Teresa Loveridge, Mapleton; Gordon Lyon, Provo; David Stringfellow, Orem; Mary Vasquez and Kristi Anderson, both of American Fork. Rent-A-Kid is a program co-sponsored co-sponsored by the Utah County Services Agency and the Spanish Fork Jaycees. Youth between the ages of 12 and 18 are trained by adult counselors and employed em-ployed in such areas as housework, farmwork, party catering and business inventory. Persons desiring additional information should contact the Community Services Agency at 174-5151, 455 North University Vvenue, Provo.
