She just opened a travel agency and art gallery in Park City. Main Street Travel and Art is exactly what it sounds like. Fine art and furniture fill the two floors, but the bread and butter of the business is travel consultations. That's the new offering from people formerly known as travel agents, Baldwin explained. Sure, anyone can book their trip online just as easily as an agent, but the regular traveler will never have the expertise and connections of a professional. The cost to the client is the same whether they do it themselves or get help, but the experience can be much better if booked through someone with expertise. Baldwin said her services are most valuable to luxury travelers. A consultant can get the most for their money and help plan truly unique adventures. And consultants are there to help if anything goes wrong, said partner John Lucky. But if you book through a consultant, they can help. "You've got a friend working with the airlines," he added. "'We're more than a resource for what's new in Tahiti." But, what's new in Tahiti is one of their fortes, Baldwin said. As a member of Virtuoso, Main Street Travel can help clients plan any kind of vacation imaginable. Want to attend the Superbowl - and one of the celebrity parties? Virtuoso can make it happen. Front row tickets to a Master's golf tournament? It's possi- ble, they said. And maybe you're tired of beaches and bars; Baldwin and Lucky said they can get you to Antarctica, or helping in a Peruvian orphanage the day after hiking Machu Pichu. A client's imagination is the limit, they said. So why the art? Baldwin said it started almost three years ago in her St. George location. Her favorite souvenir is fine art and her luxury travelers were always the people who most shared that passion. It occurred to her that people who love fine travel, also enjoy collecting art. Her personal collection evolved into a full gallery with a professional curator. As soon as she started, Baldwin said she pictured herself running a similar office on Main Street, Park City. Now that her business model is perfected, the time was right, she said. She has pieces from over 100 Utah artists. Her gallery director is a 30-year veteran of the business and signs off on everything that is displayed. The work varies from the easily affordable to a $10,000 piece and comes in multiple mediums including oil, watercolor, sculpture and mixed mediums. Here are just a few tips: Buy fresh fruits and vegetables instead of produce in cans, frozen boxes and bags. Buy in bulk, using your own containers from home to eliminate the use of can, carton, and plastic bag packaging. Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins. Buy big boxes of cereal instead of incwidually packaged cereals. Never buy individual "snack-sized" boxes or bags. When washing non-bagged greens, use a salad spinner. That way you won't have to use paper towels to blot the greens dry. Buy quarts of yogurt instead of eight-ounce or smaller cups. Use cloth or a gold coffee filter rather than paper filters, Use loose tea instead of oneuse tea bags. Buy bulk cheese instead of individually wrapped slices. Use metal and ceramic baking pans instead of aluminum disposable pans. Brought to you by Recycle Utah, Park City's drop-off Recycling Center. NEVER BEEN This is one'giftjigutnow won't be returned.
