Show RDA fiscal budget approved By PALL CHALLIS News Editor BOUNTIFUL The Bountiful Redevelopment Agency adopted a $495,150 fiscal 1991-92 budget Wednesday following a public hearing hear-ing on the proposed amount. "I have received no phone calls or any public comment or opposition oppo-sition to the new fiscal budget for the Redevelopment Agency," Lana Hardy, executive director of the RDA said. Bountiful resident Jack Billings did have a few questions for the RDA Board about the proposed budget. He was concerned about the special projects included in the proposal. pro-posal. "Where did you come up with the figure of $99,992?" he asked. "These are only possible expenses ex-penses and may not happen at all," Hardy said. "The figure of $99,992 is being used only as a balancing thing. ' ' Billings also was interested in why the accounts 1100 to 1305 were up by 17 percent over the previous year. He was told some of the accounts had been lumped together and no major increase was actually made. "The expense allowance for the board is projected as zero for the 1991-92 year and it was at $4,200 last year," Hardy said. "The accounts ac-counts were just added together, that is all." Board member Renee Coon also had some questions about the special projects account. She questioned ques-tioned future demolition and property prop-erty acquisition. City Manager Tom Hardy said the board still owns the old medical center and other buildings in the city that could be demolished if the renters moved out. "We have four buildings that could be demolished," demolish-ed," he said. Lana Hardy added that there are no plans to acquire any more property for the RDA Board. The board also discussed planting plan-ting grass on Block 29 as part of a beautification project. "We have cut the weeds down for now and are not planning on putting in grass at this phase of the project," Tom Hardy said. The approved budget includes: revenues for 1991-92 in property tax increment for $345,000, refund from bonds for $30,000, rent from properties for $40,150, construction from WX-Gateway for $80,000 to total $495,150 in revenues. Expenditures include administration administra-tion costs for $45,648 of which permanent employees makes up $23,826 of the total. The operating budget includes: bond payment for $229,000, special projects for $99,992, Gateway Park payments from Woods Cross for $80,000, Gateway Park payment for $20,000, property tax RDA property for $7,000, utilities medical center for $7,700, building maintenance for medical center for $3,000, insurance in-surance on RDA properties for $1,500, plus other miscellaneous charges. The total of the operating costs is $449,502. The motion to approve the resolution was made by board member Harold Shafter and seconded by Barbara Holt. The board passed the budget by a 4-0 vote with Robert Gramoll absent. Mayor Robert Linnell votes on the six member RDA Board. |
