Show Office established for state commission for women and families w The Governor's Commission for Women and Families now has an - office in B-l 1 of the State Capitol. After last September's special session of the Legislature, funding was appropriated to secure office space and equipment to facilitate the commission's resources and responsibilities. Now a year later the commission has established itself as a permanent working agency agen-cy complete with staff. "If am so pleased to see the Commission for Women and Families on its feet and working in a functional manner after we pushed push-ed for the appropriations last year," said Gov. Norman H Bangerter. ' 'The women and families of Utah -can now contact commission staff directly and have their needs met.' The purpose of the commission, established by law May 8, 1973, with the passage of Section 63-47-1 is "to advise and confer with the Governor and state agencies concerning con-cerning issues of importance to women and families in Utah and to serve as a contact and coordinating group to analyze state and local programs to determine whether they adequately serve women and protect pro-tect the rights of men, women and children." Monthly meetings generally open to the public are held the second Tuesday of each month.
