Show Centerville facilities get improvements and gutter will also be added to a portion of SR 106 this summer. The new water projects include lines along Pages Lane, Canyon Breeze. Rolling Hills and SR 106, Parrish Lane and 2100 North. Completion of all of the above is expected this fall. Council also voted to approve street slurry sealing in the amount of $34,586.24 to Morgan Industries. Centerville has found the slurry sealing a preferred way to repair chips and cracks in roads around the community. By TOM HARALDSEN CENTER VILLE-City crews and construction companies are in the middle of a busy summer in Centerville, as the city's culinary water system and streets get long-awaited long-awaited facelifts. The city's new Public Works facility is nearing external completion comple-tion in the Industrial Park. Once finished, fin-ished, it will house a vehicle maintenance garage, plus offices for public works, streets, water and parks and recreation departments. It could be ready for occupancy within the next 30-45 days. Centerville's culinary water system has taken the bulk of attention atten-tion this summer, as the first phase in a Master Plan-mandated upgrade is underway. Already, crews have replaced waterlines on the west side of Main near Centerville Junior High, on 300 East between 400 and 1000 South, and near the school's playing fields. Six projects have either begun or been completed to date as part of the $400,000 improvement, funding of which came from a culinary water rate hike earlier this year. City council approved five more water projects and four street construction con-struction jobs last week. Reconstruction of 300 East and Tobe Drive were both approved, for $41,141 and $41,351 respectively. Both areas have suffered serious road breakups in the winter, and this will remedy those problems.
