V I : 1 1 If ( I i I ) Mr. and Mrs. Neslin Bangerter of Bountiful were very surprised when their Christmas amaryllis bulb bloomed unexpectedly for the third time this season. Normally, one or two sets of blooms can be expected per season. The bulb is of semi-tropical origin and must be cultured indoors at this latitude. It must be forced into dormancy during the fall months in order to bloom at Christmas time. Spring and summer are used to rejuvenate the bulb. The first cycle of the Bangerter's flower produced blooms the size of a dinner plate. The second cycle, slightly smaller and the third cycle, the size of a saucer. I |
