Show Davis to play either East, Skyline in state tourney Friday night By GARY BLODGETT Sports Editor KAYSVILLE - Although Davis High concluded its regular season basketball campaign a week early, and drew a bye in last week's schedule, the Darts will not know until today (Wednesday) which team they will meet in the Class 4-A Basketball Tournament. The Darts winner of Region One will play the winner of the East-Skyline game, which was scheduled last night (Tuesday). Winner of this game will enter the tourney as the Region Two fourth-place fourth-place finisher. The opening-round game pitting Davis against the winner of the Region Two game will begin Friday at 8:10 p.m. in the University of Utah Huntsman Center. The Darts will have had two weeks to rest and prepare for the state tournament opener - but the high-flying Darts (9-2 in Region One action) probably would have preferred to continue playing while they had the momentum going. Bountiful the only other south Davis County team to see tournament tour-nament action this year - will play Box Elder tonight (W ednesday) in the first round of the Class 3-A Tournament. Tipoff is 6 p.m. in the Weber State College Dee Events Center. |
