Show Luncheon spotlights Alzheimer's month In recognition of Alzheimer's Association Month, a special luncheon lun-cheon is being held for the support group of Davis County on Thursday, Thurs-day, Nov. 10, at 11:30 a.m. This will be held at the Mapleridge Adult Day Care located at 345 S. 300 E., Bountiful. The stress and adjustments all family members face when a loved one has Alzheimer's Disease can often be overwhelming. The support sup-port groups are a source of strength needed to handle even the everyday every-day situations. The group also keeps the members abreast of the latest findings and the impact they have on each person. On Thursday, Deanna Foxley will speak to the support group. Deanna is the senior companion program assistant Alzheimer's Association. She has a masters in sociology, and a certificate in gerontology. While Deanna was obtaining her certificate in geron-. tology, she started working with the Alzheimer's Association because be-cause of her special interest and research on the disease. Deanna will give a general idea on handling the person with Alzheimer's in a difficult situation. Then she will explain how to do fun activities that are beneficial to both parties. In commemoration of Alzheimer's Alzheim-er's Association month, a luncheon lun-cheon will be served during the support group. This is being furnished fur-nished by Care West. There is no charge for the luncheon. Everyone is encouraged to come to the support group whether they are the caregiver or in other ways associated with someone who has a dementia related disease.
