Show Davis Barfboard By CIRCE KING First term is over and grades have come out. Students took a vacation from school last Friday while teachers worked on grades and tying up loose ends. The Halloween Dance was held Oct. 29. Couples in costume came to the school to dance and get pictures pic-tures taken. Costumes were interesting in-teresting and varied, ranging from Eyptians to hippies. The next dance is coming up soon. The D-Ettes are sponsoring a generic preference dance Nov. 19. It is guys' choice and everyone will wear black and white. Prizes will be given for the most creative outfits. out-fits. Nov. 7-11 is Free Enterprise Week in the community. Activities will include skits at the junior high, a guest speaker from KSL and a raffle. Whitney Brian is the spokesperson spokes-person for the students representing represent-ing Davis High. She feels it will be a good experience for the school and community. Drug and Alcohol awareness week was last week. The ATAC (All Teen Alcohol Council) put up anti-drug banners outside the school. They also went to the local elementary schools to do skits warning children against the dangers dan-gers of drugs. On Wednesday, everybody ev-erybody wore red to demonstrate their views toward drugs and alcohol. alco-hol. "Red Ribbon Week" was nationally na-tionally acknowledged. The school was decorated with red ribbons and streamers. Parent-teacher conferences will be Nov. 17. Don't miss it parents. |
