Show i J Vi Rawlings, Anderson top athletes Woods Cross football star Kitt Rawlings and Davis High cross country runner Cami Anderson are this week's Davis County Clipper-Little Clipper-Little Caesars Pizza Athletes of the Week. Rawlings rushed for two touchdowns touch-downs and some critical first downs in helping the Wildcats to a 35-7 victory over East Thursday, which gave Woods Cross its best record in school history (7-2 entering this week's playoffs). Others considered for the Male Athlete honor were Rawlings', teammate Todd Fuller, who had a great start in his first game as starting start-ing QB.; Viewmont quarterback Gary Leatham, Bountiful football standout Mike Bearnson (a previous pre-vious winner), and cross country runners Mark Johansen (previous winner), Ryan Anderson and Brandon Bran-don Bingham from Viewmont, Monte Veltman from Woods Cross, and Clark Maxwell of Davis. Cami Anderson was the top local finisher in the girls' division of Region Re-gion Four cross country Wednesday, Wednes-day, taking second behind Highland's High-land's Kelly Bish. Anderson was also a top ten finisher in the Clipper Invitational earlier this season. Others considered for the Female honor were runners Debbie Cox, Callee Knighton and Becky Sessions of Viewmont, and Sarah Butler of Davis; plus volleyballers Beth Dodd of Davis, Andy Harrison Harri-son and Heidi Hoffman of Bountiful, Bounti-ful, Carolyn Knight of Woods Cross (previous winner), and Tiffany Tif-fany Twitchell and Kim Blackham (previous winner) of Viewmont. All weekly winners receive a certificate cer-tificate from the Clipper, plus pizza from Little Caesars Pizza of Bountiful. |
